March 1st, 1998

Hot. An understament for the weather right now in Miami-Dade County. The news had deemed it to be ninety-six degrees, but it would feel like one hundred and twenty.

Nanda was sitting in the passenger seat of a 1999 Acura NSX. She popped opened a can of Fanta. Nasir had been left at his Grandmother's house;while Nanda rode around with Zeke.

Nanda was dressed to the nines because Zeke and Nanda had to slide through the neighborhood block party. Zeke was done pumping the gas; as he slid in the car he gave the mother of his children a kiss. "Don't be trying to show out Nanda" Zeke commanded.

"Boy I'm chillin' sippin' my fanta" Nanda shrugged off. "Yeah and you dressed like we goin' ta' freaknik" Zeke joked while pulling up to the red light. They were enjoying eachothers company as always; the windows were rolled down as they enjoyed this hot weather.

                         Time froze.

Today was the day Nanda admired her man for what seemed like forever. His ethnic features coming straight from his Haitian ancestors. She loved everything about him, he had that "by any means necessary" mindset that she loved. Nanda never opposed of him being a drug dealer because thats all she knew.

She loved him more than life, they had been together since middle school. He would always say "That's my one true love right there, Nanda with the big booty". They eloped since her daddy didn't approve.

Little did Nanda know she was about to be a widow.

A black SUV pulled up and she seen a face she didn't ever want to see at a red light. "Nanda I told yo' ass not to be with this nigga" Her father raged. "You mad because he just like you?" Nanda smirked.

"Him or me baby girl its simple" Nathaniel responded giving Nanda an ultimatum. He thought this would be hard for her but he knew the answer.

Zeke kissed Nanda as if he knew this would be his last time. "Zeke because you ain't noth-" Nanda was cut off by Zeke cocking his pistol back. Nathaniel and Zeke simultaneously killed eachother as if mirroring eachother. They never missed.

Nanda lost her father and husband in the same day, everyone questioned how she was so strong after witnessing both of there deaths.

That's what she told her family, the police and pretty much everyone else but what really happened was...

"Zeke because you ain't noth-" Nanda was cut off by the bullet that hit Zeke right in the heart.

Most would say daughter like father, Nanda cocked back her pistol and lodged a bullet right between her father's eyes.

Nathaniel didn't give a fuck about her dating a man in this horrible lifestyle he lived as well. The only reason he dared to care was because Zeke was actually a threat to his business as well as landing a deal with a big cartel Nathaniel had been courting for months.

Nanda knew exactly about her father's plans and she was going to put an end to them one way or another. She exited the car called the police and threw her guts up. It wasn't because of the events that had occurred because Zeke kept Nanda on her toes and warned her of these situations.

It was two things Nanda never missed, a target and her period. After long deliberation, there was only one she had the recollection of missing.
