Chapter 1: The start of Something New

Attention, the only thing Mia wants, after her father died. She never felt she belongs to the family. Her mom and her sister didn't make her feel it. Yes, she has money, a lot of money. She is even capable of living alone, far away from her mom and sister. But she didn't do it, never thought of it.

[Mia's Point of view]

I am Keeshee Armia Zalderriaga, my friends call me Mia. I am a daughter of Mr. Enrique Zalderriaga, a successful businessman. I'm just a simple girl, a typical girl next door, sweet, lovely, adopted. But I was loved by my father, he actually treats me like a princess, until he died because of severe illness. His last will and testament states that 40% of his total assets are in my name. I was so lucky, so loved by him. My dad never had a child on his own, I was adopted because he and his first wife never had a chance to have a baby, until her first wife died, and now, his second wife that happens to be my stepmom has a daughter with her first husband. So he has no biological child.

I took up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management and graduated Cum Laude at the University of Santo Tomas. Since I was 19, I am experiencing this unexplainable dizziness that made my friends call me "dizzy girl", and used to it till now that I'm 23.

One rainy afternoon, a good news was e-mailed to me. It was from the management of the company I applied to. I opened the message and BOOM! I was hired! This is the job I always dreamt of, the position of Finance Manager in a company. But there is a problem. My work place is far from our house, and I will be having a hectic schedule then, so I was thinking of moving to a place near my workplace. I don't want to leave the my family, but I have no choice. I dreamt of and worked hard for this job, no reason to let it go.

On a cold Saturday night, I decided to move to a condo unit near my workplace. While looking for a parking slot, I saw this boy eating the food he got from the garbage can. But he excitedly stood up, maybe expecting for some tip since he was assisting me while parking. He assisted me until my car was totally parked. I opened the window and gave her PHP100 for the assistance.

[Gelo's Point of View]

I am Angelo Santos, 11 yrs old, a streetchild. I have no family. I lost my mother when I was 9, and my father? I have no idea where he is now. He left us with nothing when I was still in my mother's womb. That's what my mom told me. So I grew up without him. But I never felt there is something missing. My mom never failed to give unconditional love to me, until she died. I still can't forget that moment.

[FLASHBACK]

"Mom, wait for me okay? I'll just go to the bathroom." I said.

"Okay baby, just don't get too long. " My mom replied.

We were waiting for a bus routed to Ilocos. She was waiting for me on the side of the road when I entered the restroom in a gasoline station near where my mom was waiting. While I'm in the restroom, I heard a beeping sound of a bus so loud. And a lot of people shouting.

I rushed outside to see what happened. I saw a lot of people gathering in a certain place, and I heard a bystander said,

"Oh, someone was hit by the bus!! Poor lady. She must be dead now."

After hearing that, i rushed to where the people are gathering and I was looking for my mom but i can't see her.

When i looked at the victim,

"MOOOOOOM!!!!!!"

I almost forgot that my mom was a nurse then. :)

She was sitting beside the victim trying to do something about what happened but the victim was dead on the spot. After that incident, everyone has moved on. We actually rode the bus routed to Ilocos. After a long drive, we finally arrived in Ilocos. When we arrived, my mom went out first and I was after her. When we stepped out the bus, Mom told me that we still need to wait for a bus routed to Manila.
