I was exhausted the next morning after the date and could barely keep my eyes open while we made our way out of the house and to the airport. I had to struggle to stay awake while going through the airport security and then boarding the plane. Now, we were up in the air and on our way to London and I could finally relax. I had a window seat (which I had to fight my brother for) and had my head leaning against the glass. The majority of people around me were family and close family friends that also lived in Florida; we had all coordinated our plans months and months ago so that we could all be on the same flight. In the seat next to me was my cousin Tabatha and next to her was her half-sister Grace. The two girls lived three hours away from us so we didn’t see each other often or have much to talk about which was kind of awkward.
I bent down and pulled my schedule for the week out of my carry-on bag; it was all in a little purple notebook and I made a point to make sure I knew every single part of the trip. We were scheduled to land in London around 8:30pm which I didn’t think was enough time to sleep off the jetlag for the wedding tomorrow but it wasn’t like catching a flight the day before was my idea... After flipping through the calendar a couple times, I stuffed it back in my bag and leaned back in my seat. I glanced over and saw that my cousins had fallen asleep and really wanted to do the same. I sighed and closed my eyes before feeling a thumping on the back of my seat. I groaned.
“Joey, I want the window seat,” I heard my sister cry.
“I already lost my battle for the window seat to Valorie and I’m not losing to you,” I heard him snap back.
“But it’s my window seat!” Brianna moaned, “And if you don’t let me have it I’m going to tell mommy!”
“You do know I’m older than you, right?”
I heard my sister sigh loudly and then flop back into her seat. I figured our mom had gone to the bathroom because she would’ve told them to stop fighting and go to sleep. And normally, I would’ve been the one to tell them to behave if Mom or Dad weren’t there but I didn’t feel like dealing with them at the moment. So, I dug around in my bag for my plane earplugs and plane eye mask and put them both on.
Siblings on plane rides are the worst, I said to myself before falling into a deep sleep.

“Let it go, Valorie, you know you’ll never beat them.”
I awoke with a start and spun around, soon finding out that I was no longer on the plane. Everything around me was a misty white and I felt shivers up my spine. The voice I heard was from a girl that I couldn’t make out a few feet in front of me and I was starting to get confused.
Valorie, you know what this is, right? I heard my voice calling to me from somewhere far away, which was very strange since I hadn’t spoken. But, yes, I knew exactly what was going on because this happened every single time I dreamed. I always ended up taking to myself in my dreams, no matter how weird that sounds. So I decided just to sit back and enjoy the ride.
“What? Your think you’re dreaming? How cute…” There was now two other girls standing with me in my dreamscape that I know hadn’t been there before. Of course, all three of them were mostly hidden by the mist around me, so I couldn’t see their faces. I also realized that the last girl who spoke to me had a British accent.
“You don’t know me.” I rolled my eyes at them all.
The first girl to talk stepped closer to me and I could almost see her face. “I know you think your best friend is crazy.”
