We're leaving tomorrow. It was 2 days ago when Tegan told me that Connor will be accompanying us to Europe. Tonight's the goodbye party Joy is holding for us. It'll be a relatively big party. At least 60 people will show up at her house tonight. I think they're using us as an excuse to have another party. We're only leaving for a few months. Not a decade.
It's been roughly an hour since I had dinner, making it 11:30pm. It probably wasn't a good idea to eat past 8pm considering that, that's what my nutritionist told me.
I'm just now getting ready to pick Tegan up from her house. I've curled my hair; more like waved it to be honest. I've also put some night makeup on, not too much. I always keep on the more natural side of things.
All that's left to do is put my dress on. I barefoot-ly tip-toe over to my closet and pick out my dress, trying not to get my feet dirty as I do so. The dress is made out of a silk material, it's red, size small. Let's see if I can now fit into it, I worked my butt off to fit into this. More like my butt on, cause I've done like a million squats in the past few months. How ironic.
I observe the reflection of myself on the mirror, looking through every curve.. looking for an imperfection. There we go! It's too tight, it forms wave like bumps on my chest area. Making horizontal lines across my upper thighs and chest.
I decide not to care today, so I grab my clutch, walk out the door and into my mom's car. It's such a dark night, the sound of the crickets are so pleasing and calming. I pull out of the driveway.
"Becca!!" Joy exclaims as she pulls me into a hug. She has the most annoying high pitched voice I've ever heard. "My darling, how are you doing?" she asks. I cringe at her choice of words. I don't understand how this girl can be Tegan's other best friend.
I use my smile and nod as a response, like hey I'm good but like can I walk in your house now, and that's exactly how she perceives it. I walk past her and into the living room. I can't stand Joy, the fact that she's flirted with all of my former best guy friends bothers me so much. She basically stole all of my guy friends from me. I wish Tegan and her weren't friends. There are tons of familiar and unfamiliar faces at this party. John from 8th grade, Olivia from middle school, and a bunch of other people I know from when I went to school last year. Fortunately, I do online school now. Along with Tegan. We both study at my house. We're in the same grade, we take the same courses.
I find Tegan and Connor in the backyard sitting by the pool. I decide to join them.
