Alma looked at Dean as he moved, he was planning on making a search around the place where Alma's father had been murdered. Someone must have seen something or heard something. And Dean was ready to test his theory
She watched him take up one of his guns and aim it, closing an eye before nodding and setting the safety, he raised the back of his t-shirt and put the gun in his jeans, hiding it from everyone with his t-shirt
Then he took up his other one and locked the safety before lifting the leg of his jeans and putting it in the holster before lowering the jeans leg over it and he sighed and straightened up
He then watched Alma put one of the guns he had given her in her heeled boot and the other one in the front of her jeans
"Ready?" He asked and she took a breath and nodded, he sighed and cupped her cheeks
"I know you're nervous, that's understandable. But Seth, Roman and I are right next to you one hundred and ten percent, we're not gonna let you go through this alone and we're not gonna leave you, so trust us no matter what, okay?" Dean asked and she nodded, eyes twinkling
Both of their eyes flicked between the other's eyes and then lips and then back again but neither of them wanted to cross that line. Just then, they heard Seth call for them and Dean stepped back
"Let's go," Dean said when he and Alma left the bedroom, he took up one of the keycards for their room and slid it inside his socks, you could easily lose a shoe during a scuffle but a sock? Kinda hard to lose
They made it to the alley way and Alma bit her lip hard, she looked around and stood frozen when she pictured everything happening again
Seth who had been walking next to her, saw when she froze and stopped Dean and Roman to check on her
"Alma?" Seth whispered, hand on her shoulder gently
She was trembling under his fingertips, on the verge of a panic attack, Roman went over and held onto her other shoulder as her tired eyes desperately searched Dean's face
He was about to say something then he paused and furrowed his eyebrows tilting his head and listening
"Seth, get her out of here, Roman back up," he ordered and Seth looked at him
"Roman position, get Alma out Seth!" He barked and Seth finally got his brain to follow and held Alma tightly to him as he got her out of that alley
Dean growled as the hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he grabbed the man who rushed at him and slammed him back first against the wall, the gun from the back of his jeans now pointed at the man's forehead while Roman got his gun ready incase someone decided to get fresh
"What were you planning to do there big guy?" Dean asked in his business voice
"What're you doing snooping around the ArrowHeads place?" The other man growled
"ArrowHeads?" Dean asked not lowering the gun
"The baddest group of men in these parts, they kill people here, every night," he said and Dean passed a curious glance to Roman who looked just as curious
"Do you know about the murder that took place here about 2 weeks ago?" Roman asked and the man made a thinking face and Dean smacked him with the barrel of the gun
"Alright alright, I don't know who was murdered but I heard a woman screaming, which was weird because I've never seen them harm a woman," he admitted
"Who's the leader of the ArrowHeads?" Dean asked, narrowing his eyes
"I wouldn't be able to tell you cuz I don't know. They always come here with a different man sending an order for them," the man explained
"Now what were you doing trying to attack The Messiah?" Dean asked tilting his chin up as the man's eyes widened
"You're Dean Ambrose? I'm so sorry, but I assure you, I was just trying to save you. If those damn ArrowHeads ever saw someone besides me snooping around back here, they'd kill them."
"I own that meat shop there, I own this alleyway," he explained
"Why haven't you called the captain if you know what's been going on back here every night?" Roman asked
"They've threatened my daughter and wife's lives," he told them and Dean's eyes softened and he let go
"Get out of here," Dean said and the man nodded to him, thankful to not have a bullet in his skull
"Let's find-" Dean paused, looking at the man who looked to have faltered in his steps
"Carmen," Dean finished, and narrowed his eyes as the man's whole demeanour brightened and he albeit ran back to his shop
"El es un rato," Dean said, nostrils flaring
"Cómo?" Roman asked as they exited the alley, Dean shrugged a shoulder
"He slowed down when I said we needed to find someone, I was about to say Alma when I realized he had slowed down," Dean explained and Roman bit his lip
"But why would he give us information if he's a rat?" Roman asked and Dean smirked
"Well Ro, the people who killed Bernardo, obviously know we're looking for them," Dean said, ruffling his hand through his already unruly curls
"But who?" Roman asked and Dean shrugged a shoulder again
"That, I don't know. I intend to find out though," he promised and dialled a number on his burner phone
"Hey Seth, where are you two? Uh huh. Around the corner? Got it. Is she okay? Oh. Sí. Ro and I are coming. I'll tell you when we get there. Okay hemañito." Dean said
"So hemañito-" Roman began and Dean hummed in acknowledgement as they walked side by side, casually down the street
"Why did you send her away when you sensed the man coming? You normally don't care about stuff like that," Roman said and Dean chewed his bottom lip lightly
"Did you see the way she looked at me?" He finally asked as he stared straight ahead
"She looked so scared and desperate, she was pleading to me with her eyes to protect her, I was wrong for bringing her in the alley. I know she's so strong and brave and can kick some serious ass, but-" he cut himself off when he looked to see Roman with the widest, goofiest smile on his face
"You like her," he said and Dean scoffed
"Even if I do Ro, she'll never go for someone like me, soy un criminal," he dismissed
"She doesn't care about that," Roman said and Dean shrugged and pursed his lips
"Well I do. She's a good girl, she's already got the world of problems trying to knock her down when she got involved with this murder thing. If she gets involved with me, it'll be worse for her. I have to know that her being as far away from me as possible, is the best thing for her," Dean explained and Roman sighed
"And that has nothing to do with how close her and Arturo are?" Roman asked knowingly
"Not at all. I'm not selfish to have feelings for her and prevent her from dating anyone. I can't give her what Arturo can, so it's good that she found someone who can," he replied, pushing open the door of the diner where Seth and Alma were and he ignored the clench in his heart when she saw him and lit up like a Christmas tree. Hermosa.
"We already ordered for you guys," Seth told them
"Gracias," Dean said, smiling as Alma switched sides so she could sit by him
He knew he was glowing every time he made Alma laugh and he knew he smiled every time her pinky finger brushed his. He pretended not to notice Roman's knowing gaze though. It was better if she stayed clueless about his feelings for her
