Dark Souls
Prologue
In the founding of the universe, the earth was unformed, covered in crags, and dragons held sole dominion over the world. However, The Lords of Fire along with the human race eventually came into existence for reasons long lost to time. From the Dark, which gained meaning in contrast to Light from the newly kindled flame, emerged four powerful entities, Nito, the first of the undead; the Witch of Izalith and her daughters of Chaos; Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, and his faithful knights; and the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten. These Lords of Fire harnessed the Souls of Lords accompanied by Seath, the Scaleless Dragon whom betrayed his own kind to combat the dragons, eventually overthrowing them and launching humanity and their new lordly gods into a golden era known as the Age of Fire. All the lords fought in the rebellion except the Furtive Pygmy, whom discovered the unique Dark Soul amongst the other lords before fading into obscurity. Passing the soul down through his lineage, the Pygmy hoped that his descendants would extinguish the Age of Fire and usher the Age of Darkness, installing the humans as the new rulers of the world over the old Gods.
Chapter I: New Beginnings
A thousand years after the rebellion, the first flame has started to die, and Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight was fearful of the Age of Darkness, the era that would overthrow the Age of Fire and start a new civilization were the humans will be the one to rule the world and making the Lords of Fire and the other deities lose their power over Lordran and the whole world. Afraid that this may happen, Lord Gwyn, using very soul, has sacrificed himself inside the Kiln of the First Flame to sustain their reign in the Age of Fire. Thus, making Gwyn the Lord of Cinder. On this era, pygmies, the part of the human population that are branded with the Dark Sign, whom are known by the deities as undead were suddenly appearing near the population of humans. Judged as a threat to humankind and to the gods, the pygmies were out casted to the Undead Asylum, were they are locked forever, to rot and await the end of the world.
As the fates of the pygmies are to live and be locked inside the asylum for eternity, a chosen pygmy has its fate to be changed, a fate that is untold. This Chosen Undead is Osriel Dragomir, a descendant of Furtive Pygmy, yet he is still locked away in the asylum, waiting for hope to come. As days and nights had passed, Osriel, inside his own jail in the asylum had a glimpse of an unknown stranger wearing a knight's armour above his room's broken ceiling. This stranger dropped a corpse to his ground and suddenly left. Alerted and surprised to what happened he examined the corpse body and found a key. When he had a glance of this key, the first he came into mind is it is the key to the lock of his jail room. Osriel quickly used it to open the door of his jail room, to his plea, the door opened. As the door opened, a new hope also came to Osriel, in which his fate is to be changed and not just rot inside the hell he is in. He rushed outside the hallways of the asylum, but before he could sprint, he encountered a hollow, an undead that has lost its sanity and its soul, vanquished by the Darksign. This thing happens when a pygmy or undead with the "Undead Curse" has its soul devoured by the Darksign, making it lose its sense of humanity and erasing its sanity, making it hunger for souls. This is the reason why the deities and the humans made the pygmies as a threat to their life and sent them locked away inside the Undead Asylum, away from Lordran. Before the insane hollow even attacked, Osriel rushed as he stabbed it with his broken sword hilt. As he goes through the hallway, he encountered many of his kind whom he had no choice but to slay, if not, it may cause him face grave itself because these creatures have gone insane, and will attack anything it gets contact to.
As Osriel got out of the hallway, he saw a damaged wall, curious of what it has on the other side, he went inside it. Here he found the knight whom left him the corpse with the, only to find this knight already weakened and dying, because the Darksign is gradually devouring its soul. The knight said "It was worth the sacrifice to give you hope, as for me, my mission is complete, I have nowhere to go. But still I know that I have accompanied a comrade who can change the fate of our kind, and change the fate of the world." Osriel thanked his fellow undead before his soul left the world. He then continued his journey. Encountering countless undead who were past warriors when they were human, he then found a unique sword on a giant crow's nest, it was not just a sword of any other kind, because when he held the sword, it glowed unusually once he had contact with it, it reacted to the curse he had, knowing he is the chosen one. He then called it, Albion.
