" MAYBE YOU'RE FINALLY GONNA BE FREE. "

"So yesterday..."
"Mmhm."
"I was transformed, right? And then out of no where..."
"Yeah..."
"I just collapse. Then my body went back to normal." Journey explained to her older sister. "Now, when I try to transform, my body like...rejects it."
"Maybe it's a sign." Her sister said sarcastically, knowing it wasn't actually a sign.
"Of what? that I need to stop going to you when I have shit happen to me" Journey rolled her eyes and Natalie glared.
"What if my body can't handle it anymore" she thought aloud.
"Hey, hey, hey." Natalie rushed over to her sister before wrapping her arms around her. "You'll be fine sis, I promise. You'll probably be able to transform soon"
"Uh, girls." Their Father popped his head in the door. "Try to get some sleep, you've got important things to do"
As their father closed the door, Natalie placed a kiss on her sisters forehead. Journey pursed her lips and Natalie left her sister's bedroom. Upon hearing the door click shut once more, Journey let out a long sigh and ran her fingers through her dark hair. "Don't act like you care, dad." Journey sighed to herself.
The only thing her father has ever cared for is replacing the alpha which he has lost years ago. His daughters would of course, take her spot, but only at the expense of his relationship with them. He only cared about ruling the pack, his glutton for power got the better of him, and he grew distant with his daughters.
Journey looked into her mirror, and stared into her own eyes. "Just go to sleep." She said to herself.

victoria's pov (a week later)"Practice after school today?" My father asked, not looking up from his laptop as we all ate breakfast. I woke up well, but of course, no morning is peaceful with my family.
"Yes, dad. Until 8." I answered. "Can I spend the night at Kaylees house afterward?"
"It's a school night, Victoria. I don't even know why you'd ask." He sighed. "Maybe on Friday or Saturday."
"You let Alex go to his girlfriends house on school nights. Why can't I spend time with my best friend?" I asked irritably.
"Victoria! You know better than to talk back. What your brother does is none of your concern. He's older." He snapped.
"Sorry." I said quietly. I pushed my pancakes around with my fork and listened to Alex and my mother move around the kitchen, along with the rapid typing coming from my dad and his laptop. Why does he treat Alex so different? I get that he's his own flesh and blood, but it's not like Alex has done anything to deserve it.
I mean, every son deserves love. But who deserves to be put second when parents should love their children equally? I've done nothing wrong to anyone in this family yet they constantly treat me like shit. I'm tired of trying to be someone I'm not in order to please them. God, I hope they get what's coming to them.
"Victoria!" My mom raised her voice. I jumped slightly, before glancing down as the scratches in the plate that I didn't realize I was making. "Jesus, Vicky. Don't drift off like that." She sighed before picking up the plate. "Henry's waiting outside for you two."
Alex and I stood up from our seats and took our book bags off the back of them. "See you, mom." Alex said as we left the house.
"V." Alex spoke worryingly. "You okay?" He asked. I pursed my lips and nodded, but it didn't seem to relieve any stress from my brother.

"Hey." Kaylee said happily as she saw me. I waved, and a cheesy smile arose to my face before I was given a warm hug. "So. I'm guessing your dad said no because your dad doesn't let you do anything but you're coming anyways?" Kaylee asked.
"Correct." I said, laughing. As we walked to our lockers, I got this weird feeling. It was like I was being watched or someone was talking about me. I turned to see a girl. She had dark brown, almost black hair, and she looked at me with the same look of confusion I gave her.
"That's the new girl. Her names Journey, isn't she hot?" Kaylee asked.
I rolled my eyes and shoved her lightly with my elbow.
"She's coming over here, Victoria. Snap out of it." Kaylee chuckled.
Despite Kaylee's comment, I did find Journey rather attractive. "Hi, Journey. We met outside, I'm Kaylee. This is my best friend Victoria." Kaylee introduced us.
"Hi" greeted Journey and I waved back nor really feeling like saying anything. Journey and Kaylee shared a few words before Kaylee had to get to class, leaving me to talk to Journey alone.
"Your friends interesting" She told me.
"She is" I chuckled.
"I don't really know my way around, you think you could give me a quick tour before I get lost?"
"Of course." I smiled at her. "The schools pretty big but I think you'll manage."
-
"I think that was partially a waste of time now." I laughed, looking at Journey's schedule after giving her a tour of the entire school.
"We share every class but one and that's French." Journey laughed, and looked at her schedule just to make sure I wasn't joking around.
Journey seemed like the type of girl who didn't care to be social. She seemed closed off and as though she was hiding so much.
"Thanks for showing me around, Victoria. I would be lost without you" She said, smiling. I returned the smile,
"anytime."
"So what are you doing after school?" She asked.
"I have track after school until 8. I'm free tomorrow if you wanna hang out then." I said sadly.
I would really like to hang out with Journey after school, but my dads gonna be pissed if I skip practice. On second thought, he's already gonna be pissed when I don't go home tonight.
"Actually. I can skip practice today."
