Addy's POV

"Are we almost there yet?" I asked for probably the thousandth time.

"Addy, I swear to God, if you ask one more time I will throw you out the car window!" Brooke yelled.

Brooke was the one driving, Erika was in the passenger seat, and I had the back to myself.

"Just askin'" I muttered. Today my two best friends and I are spending two weeks at a cabin by a lake we rented in South Carolina.

We were traveling from Georgia where we all went to college together. About in the middle of the year, we all decided to save up some money to rent the cabin.

"We're about 15 minutes away," reported Erika. Erika had red hair with blue eyes. She wore an NF hoodie and black leggings (I have no idea how she survives the heat in those clothes). I've known Erika since the 4th grade.

Brooke was tall with brown hair and green eyes. She wore a volleyball shirt with shorts and crocs. I've known her since the second grade.

I had curly brown hair and brown eyes. I wore glasses (I'm pretty much blind without them) a Queen shirt, and some shorts.

About 15 minutes later we arrived at the cabin.

"FINALLY! MY BACK IS KILLING ME!" I shouted and practically fell out of the car as soon as Brooke parked. I dramatically stretched my back and arms as Brooke and Erika stepped out of the car.

The cabin was a decent size for three people. It had three small rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. We dragged our luggage into the cabin and picked rooms. Mine was on the first floor, while Brooke and Erika's rooms were in the second floor.

After unpacking, I decided to look around outside. There were lots of trees surrounding the cabin, and flowers of all sorts were neatly planted along the cabin. In the back, there was a staircase leading to a dock on the lake.

The lake was beautiful. It sparkled in the sunlight and I was hypnotized by the way the small waves moved together. The dock made creaking noises as it tilted slightly this way and that way.

I made my way down the stairs and sat on the edge of the dock. I stared down at the water, letting go of all the stress that's been weighing me down during school. My reflection stared back at me.

In my reflection, my face was blank. However, as I continued to watch, I noticed an object behind me in my reflection.

I watched in horror as my mind processed what it was.

Pointed righted at my head, was a gun.
