It had been a full year since Dawon and Daniel had been a couple. Within that time a lot had happened, their careers, achievements, yet somethings  fell slightly backwards as they found differences upon themselves.

Dawon was busy most of the times, while Daniel had tried to get her to save up space in her schedule. There were always times where she had to cancel, postpone, or leave early on some dates. They rarely had time with each other like the earlier times they were together.

Now it was finally their one year anniversary of being a couple. Daniel had texted Dawon who was at work and asked her if he was available to come to the place where he confessed. Yet, there was still no reply. He was left on read.

Daniel sighed as sat on his couch. It was their anniversary, and he didn't know whether Dawon remembered or not.

Dawon on the other hand worked as a makeup artist for quite a lot of people in the fashion industry. Her work was complimented by a lot that she was called upon many times. Thinking of makeup styles, creating facial masks, and creating portfolios gave her no time to relax. As others would say, she got successful fast.

"Dawon, make sure to send me the presentation by 9 PM today." Her boss knocked on her office door.

She was busy and fast taps could be heard as her laptop was being used to the fullest. "Don't worry, I'll try to get in earlier if possible." Dawon smiled but in reality she was stressed.

"As expected I can trust you." He put a thumbs up before closing the door.

As she was completing one of the slides, Dawon noticed something off. "The material labeled for the facial mask isn't the once matched for the picture..."

She immediately went to grabbing her phone to call her co-worker who took the pictures. Suddenly she saw a message from Daniel.

Kangdan
Do you have time
today for dinner. I
have a surprise for
you. :)

Dawon frowned. Although she would've loved to spend time with him, she couldn't do that today.

Dawon
Sorry Daniel. I have
an important presentation
due today. I'm really busy.
I'll try to come if I have time,
but I doubt it.

She quickly exited the messaging app before calling Dongbin.

Daniel heard a buzz from his phone, and he checked his screen to see a new message from Dawon.

Instead of being ecstatic, his face looked more gloomy as he read the message word for word.

"Busy once again." He sighed. Daniel felt as though their bond had grown farther and farther apart.

Although Dawon was unable to play her part in their anniversary, he still decided to gift her something and then drop it off at her house later.

Daniel had walked through the busy streets of Seoul until he stopped in front of a flower shop. "Maybe I should buy flowers?"

He went inside the flower shop and his face was hit with the fragrances of roses, chrysanthemums, and more.

"Ooh a customer." A middle aged woman walked towards Daniel with a happy face due to only being one of her few customers. "Is there a specific flower you would like? Is it for a special occasion?"

"I'm not really sure..." Daniel's face scanned through the variety of colorful petals.

"Is there something wrong?" The lady could sense something wrong.

"Let me guess, it's for your anniversary." The woman smiled.

"That was just a lucky guess wasn't it." Daniel couldn't help but smile. "I'm not sure what type of flowers it get her."

"Ah, the trouble if picking flowers for your loved ones. That used to me when I was the same age as you. I lived a life of contemplative love. He was always the busiest while I nearly has all the time in the world."

"Are you both still together?" He was curious about their story.

"Of course! I think that's what made our love stronger. The days we were both free, we bonded to the fullest. We enjoyed our presence. Next week is our 18th anniversary."

"Wow, but is it possible for me and Dawon?" Daniel mumbled.

"Here, I'll recommend you the red and yellow carnations. The yellow represents disdain and disappointment. The red ones represent a passionate love. Among the yellow there's the red. Also, I may seem a bit nosy, but I have a feeling your relationship will last a lifetime. Trust me." She winked.

"Do you really think?" Daniel felt hopeful for the first time in a while as he told the lady to make a bouquet.

Daniel's last stop was a chocolate shop. Although his gift seemed a bit clique, he was just hoping Dawon would like it.

As he was walking on the light lit streets, Daniel came by a familiar memory, underneath the cherry blossom tree. Except the place had opened a nearby café.

He decided to get a seat outside and sat wondering what the lady said.

"Can I get you something." A voice replied.

"No, I don't-" Daniel looked up to see a smiling Dawon.

"Dawon!" He exclaimed.

"That's me." She took a seat in front of him. "I'm not late am I?"

"Not at all." He shook his head.

Dawon cleared her throat. "I know I've been busy with my job and such and I wanted to say I'm sorry. I've been pushing you away, and I felt bad. I tried to come as fast as I could after realizing it was our first anniversary."

"You remembered." He was shocked.

"Of course I remembered dummy. And also-" Dawon pulled out a box and slide it to Daniel. "Open it."

"What-" Daniel opened it to see two rings.

"They're couple rings." Dawon pulled out Daniel's ring and placed it on his ring finger. Daniel did the same to Dawon.

"Here's your gift. I thought you weren't going to come, and I was planning on sending it to your house." He handed her the flowers and the gift bag.

"I would never do that. Also, I took a break for next week. Let's go on a vacation together." Dawon suggested.

"That seems like a great idea. Also happy anniversary Dawon."

"Happy anniversary to you too Daniel."
