Hello! This is Candice! I hope you enjoy this chapter and I really advise you to check this song out because it truly is a bop. Okay, you may now proceed!

\\

Maurice's eyes met yours as your faces inched closer and closer. You had noticed little details you never could really see from your usual distance.

"(Y/N), from the first time I saw your face, god, I knew you were special. I know this may seem irrational and stupid, but I love you."

He caressed your face with his hand, and his pointy nails softly scratched your face in a pleasant way. Your faces inched closer and closer still, but you being impatient locked the deal as you kissed him tenderly. Backing away from the sweet kiss you two shared, he looked lovingly in your eyes and whispered, "(Y/F/N)! You have 10 seconds to explain why your room is a mess!" You looked at him confused, but he just kept repeating the phrase over and over again until you realized you were sadly just in a dream.

As you came to, you felt Gilbert roughly shaking you.

"What the fuck happened (Y/N)? You're 17, not 2. Get your ass up and clean this shit!"

Each word he said was wrapped in bitterness and the scent of alcohol on his breath frightened you. You mumbled something along the lines of "Yes sir," and lifted yourself out of bed as you rubbed your tired eyes. Because it was a Saturday and you didn't have any plans (as usual), you threw a black t-shirt on and some athletic shorts you found on the floor after shaking them free of Dorito crumbs. Afterwards, you stumbled to find your glasses and quickly washed your face after you threw your hair into a ponytail. To put it in brief terms, you weren't feeling today. You already had a long list of chores and to top it all off, Maurice was coming back tonight.

Your chores went as followed. Dirty laundry, dishes, Dorito crumbs, vacuuming your living room, Ann and Gilbert's room, and your room, dusting the fans and windows, wiping down all of the surfaces, and last but not least watering Ann's plants, and mowing the lawn because your gut didn't really trust drunk Gilbert with machinery. Although you felt as if you were productive, you still felt as if you wasted your Saturday away. As the sun soon was about to set, you quickly hopped into the shower to get ready for tonight. Maurice Maurice Maurice. Every single thought in your mind was clouded with excitement. You couldn't wait to learn more about monsters and how he could just disappear under your bed. Where did he go? How did he become a monster? Was this just how he was born? You were anxious to learn so much more about your newfound friend.

You decided to go casual with your outfit and stuck with a long hoodie and a pair of black leggings. Baggy clothes made you feel comfortable and less exposed to the world. You just didn't love your body and to you, that was okay. You braided your hair into two pigtails and applied some light makeup. You slumped on your bed, overcome with emotions, while Phum Viphurit's Adore played in the background.

"I built you castles and endless daisy chains-" You sang along to help distract you from not checking the clock every five seconds. "...mend all that's broken, for your love I will regain."

"I do do do do, I do do do do doooo!" Your once mumbled voice shamelessly grew louder and louder as you started to dance.

"(Y/N)?"

You jolted your head back and saw Maurice staring at you like you grew a second head or something. You quickly grabbed your phone and paused it.

"Why'd you stop? You know babe, you looked cute doing that! Well I mean, if you covered your ugly face, It'd be better... I mean honestly, it's distracting me-!"
