Chapter 1:
I run the can of potatoes under the scanner.
"that'll be $20.57" I tell the customer.
They hand me a $20 and a $1. That's 43¢ change. I pull the quarter, two dimes and 3 pennies out of the cash register and hand It to the customer.
"Thanks for shopping at 'shop n' save'. Have a nice day."
"thanks, you too." she replies.
I'm about to go on my break when someone comes up to the register.
"I'd like to purchase these if you don't mind." he says.
Im stunned by his dark brown hair glistening in the sunlight. He is tall with broad shoulders and light blue eyes.
I stutter as I speak. "Uhm... Yea. I mean. Of course. Let me ring those up for you.
"thanks." he laughs.
He's buying a banana and some vitamin water.
"will that be all?" I ask innocently.
"yup." he says
"that'll come to $7.95 please." he hands me the money and a quick jolt runs though me as his fingers graze my palm.
I hand him his change and the receipt.
"thanks for shopping at shop 'n save. Have a great day!" I shoot a smile at him and he (surprisingly) grins back. A flutter goes throughout my whole body. Oh god. I just made a complete fool I myself. He probably will think of me as the over friendly girl who helped him check out at a cheap super market. *sigh* will I ever get a hot guy to be interested in me?
