'Kat,' I said.
'Kate,' she let out a small giggle, 'pronounce the sound of the 'A', Beau.'
'Kat,' I cock my head to the side, the pretty lady in white is so silly - she can't even say her own name!
Everyone think she's very special here, she has powers. Yusuf told me that every child she came to talk to would disappear, he think it's because their families finally come to pick us up - they finally figure out where we are. 'Hey Kat,' I said.
'Mm, Beau?' Her lips curve.
'Are my parents here to take me home?' I ask, it's been a few days since I got here, my mom's friend Joan, who would come over and see my Mommy a lot, dropped me off. I just want to go home. The walls here are too white, it smells sterile and at night the ladies in white pace the halls - it's scary, I miss my home, my bed, my Mommy - my Daddy. Kat stays silent and I continue playing with the holes in my shirt, my friend Yusuf gave it to me - Joan didn't bring any of my clothes with her. He told me his parents were in heaven, I feel bad for him sometimes.
'No Beau,' she extends her hand for mine and I snatch it away from her grip, 'you're here until we find you new ones, Beau.' She was smiling, why was she smiling? Why does she need to find me new ones? The pretty lady in white isn't so pretty to me anymore.
'Where are mine?' My voice was angry.
'Beau, your's are in heave-,'

"No!" I scream, inhaling a sharp breath of air as I sit up abruptly from my dream. You know it wasn't a dream - I wish it was a dream. Can you really call it a dream? It was a nightmare. Yeah, a nightmare that you lived. "Fuck," I bury my head in my clammy hands, I glance at my watch; 3:09am - the time blinks back at me, I take a large gulp of the un-finished night-cap on my nightstand and roll over, hoping to chase other peoples dreams, instead of my own nightmares.

"Can you blame me," I laugh with Charlotte, "we only did it twice." I blush a pale pink, it feels oddly refreshing to be able to share my conquest with Charlotte, when it came to Sam - the details were next to none and he was like a dream, he only came out at night. Charlotte made me vow to her that I was never to sleep with Sam again, or at least not tell her about it otherwise.
"Only? Soph, you just came out of a dry spell. Only twice is a lot." Her cheeks polish themselves a crimson blush, laughing with me at the expense of my sex-life. Your sex life kind of was a joke up until last night - I forgot my subconscious could speak. "Manuel and I have only done it twice, too." She begins to flirtatiously fiddle with the paper straw in her iced coffee.
"Oh yeah right!" I swat her.
"Yeah, only twice - today." She winks as we both erupt into laughter. "But seriously Sophia, it's like a dream come true. We need to double date soon, like - need!" She dramatically scratches the air with her hands.
"A double date sounds great, but-,"
"Bu-u-t?" She says, dragging out the 'U'.
"But, I haven't heard from him since he dropped me home yesterday afternoon - not even a text." I let out a sigh - first world problems right? Why am I even worried, it's not as if I didn't expect this. Beau fucking Jones 'Jnr' - fucking 'Jnr', 'Bachie' Beau as the Media likes to call him - 'Damage control,' is his excuse for not being publicly photographed with women, please. What kind of excuse is that? Damage control my fucking ars-.
