This poem is inspired by a webtoon I've read. And I sort of put my own twist into it. One of my favorite poems that I've written! Hope you enjoy~
Four Quarters by Christina Wang
This life is full of cruel and callous people, for cruelty outweighs kindness; popularity reigns over hard-earned friendship.
Those with a close relationship live in a fragile bubble apart from anyone else, while others bask in the never-ending spotlight.
I envy them. Not those who drown themselves in being wanted, but those who freely laugh without anyone to judge them.
Because I'd rather have four quarters than 100 pennies. Four close friends over 100 fakes.
Maybe it's just me or the few of us, but it's hard to even find one quarter.
