Take a Chance
Choi Seunghyun liked to drink. Simple as that. All the members in BIGBANG knew it; Kwon Jiyong especially. He'd been the reciever of many of his bandmate's drunken confessions, and of them all he had never revealed them to the other members because Seunghyun always pleaded with him to keep it a secret the morning after, when his head was still aching from a hangover. Of Taeyang, Seungri, Jiyong and Daesung, Seunghyun had always confessed the most important things to one member only, and that was Jiyong.
Except Jiyong had never been expecting this.
It was no suprise when Seunghyun came home drunk that evening. His expression a mask of anger and sadness, Seunghyun had stormed into the dorm, collapsing onto the couch without even a sideways look at the bandmate who was sitting at the kitchen table. Jiyong had gotten a call from Seunghyun less than ten minutes ago, the drunk man proceeding to tell Jiyong of his recent break-up. Funny thing was, Jiyong hadn't even known that Seunghyun was dating anyone. But that was Seunghyun for you; he hid things when they were too private or important to speak aloud. Although most secrets of his had been revealed to Jiyong a long time ago.
Sighing exasperatedly, Jiyong stood from his seat at the table and trudged to Seunghyun's side. He plopped down, staring expectantly, but Seunghyun was not meeting his gaze. His eyes were trained on the TV screen, focusing hard yet not focusing at all. Something was different this time around, Jiyong realized.
"Are you... okay?" Jiyong began hesitantly. He usually wasn't a hesitant person, but he was wary of what Seunghyun might have been holding in.
Seunghyun's eyes stayed trained on the TV for a second longer before he tore his gaze away to look at Jiyong. There were bags under his eyes, and his raven-black hair was unkempt, almost as if Seunghyun hadn't brushed it for a whole week. He didn't say anything for a while, just stared, his eyes sad- and filling with tears. Jiyong felt shock ripple through him. Seunghyun hated crying. And crying in front of his bandmembers was not a thing he liked, either. But he's drunk, Jiyong reminded himself.
"I don't know what I'm doing wrong," Seunghyun whispered, his voice filled with pain, while at the same time he was partially slurring.
Jiyong blinked. What was he supposed to say to that? "You aren't doing anything wrong, Seunghyun."
"Then why do girls keep leaving me?" It almost didn't sound like a question, as if he were stating the obvious.
"Seunghyun, it's not you," Jiyong whispered.
"If you were a girl- if you were dating me- would you stay with me?" His words sounded suprisingly clear compared to a few seconds ago.
Jiyong stared at him gently. "If I were a girl? Of course. But, unfortunately, I'm not." He tried to make his tone light, just to make Seunghyun feel better.
Seunghyun stared at him again, and suddenly he was too close for Jiyong's comfort. "Promise?"
"Seunghyun..." The word sounded tiny on his lips. What was his hyung doing?
And with that word, something seemed to click inside Seunghyun's head, because suddenly his lips were against Jiyong's, the salty taste of tears on both their tongues. Jiyong froze, too shocked to move. His mind tried hard to find a solution to what was happening and failed horribly. And then sense took over, and Jiyong shoved Seunghyun away, his eyes widened as he worked to figure out what the hell had just happened.
"What the fuck?"
Seunghyun just stared at him for a few seconds, the tears running down his cheeks, before, just like that, he turned and walked out of the dorm. No. That did not just happen. It couldn't have. Seunghyun wouldn't... Jiyong's mind was reeling, and he felt like a kid trying to catch up to a ghost train, seeing the image there but being unable to grasp it. Almost instinctively, Jiyong touched his lips with his fingers, remembering, briefly, the feel of Seunghyun's lips against his.
