I'm Trying to eat

I sat, mouth agape, staring

she stood, 4 feet tall, glaring

she had asked me for a cocktail

I sat, ignoring

her request, she was complaining

that I wasn't working

she stood, her sandals red,

the color of her face,

I sat, looking

at my food, steaming

the al pastor was dripping

grease, and avocado, with cheese melting,

they were staring,

back at me, whispering

eat me,

she stood, yelling,

I sat, taking

a bite of the taco

she stood, complaining,

while I sat, savoring.
