Only when I defeated the perception of who I THOUGHT I was did I truly begin to evolve into my purpose
The battle of the human mind against the heart of man can be dangerous at times
So when I feel my mind racing I fight to find my bible which leads to a pen and a pad
Turning feeling to joy that were once sad
Growing up I always wanted to be like the next man but as I got older I stopped being a fan of failure and began to mature
Maturity, something that this generation lacks
Our young black men think it's all about serving a pack but let's take a minute to look back
Back at the pain that our ancestors endured, the blood they shed and the rights that they would've known that they already had if only we knew how to read
Read between the lines and you will then find out what kind of person you truly are
