I think the updates on this thing will be just sort of random. I don't even know anymore.
End me.
Word Count: 568 ))Adam spun around immediately to face his friend, who was hovering in the air a few inches away from him. Barry had a look on his face that had seemed pained, yet also angered.
Adam was afraid to say anything. After all, he didn't really know what he could say. He'd helped Vanessa cheat on her husband, and that was that. He knew that he couldn't really come back from that one, and he also knew that his friend would never accept him or see him in the same light again either.
And he deserved it.
He deserved every bit of the malice in Barry's expression after what he'd done.
"Barry-senpai, look-," he began, but was immediately cut off by the other bee in front of him.
"Shut up, Adam," he hissed. "You will tell me when and how you started fucking my wife."
Adam was a bit stunned by that comment. He didn't expect that sort of response toward the situation. But, being the one at fault, who was he to deny his friend of an explanation. "It was when you went off on a business trip a few months ago..." he muttered. "Vanessa was drinking, and we just-- I ended up doing something I regretted..."
Barry-senpai's eyes narrowed as he stared at me. "It was her who instigated it?" he asked for confirmation.
Adam nodded and then looked away.
Barry stood there and just stared at him for a few moments, saying nothing. After a while, Adam watched as his friend's knees buckled a bit and Barry lowered himself to the floor, head down.
Adam got down on his knees and peered down at him from the windowsill. His friend lay on the carpet, one hand over his face as he stared down at the ground. There were tears falling down his cheeks, and the pure pain in his friend's face is what made Adam's throat close up and his stomach knot.
Even now, he knew that in a way, it would be wrong to try and comfort Barry, as he was part of the pain that had caused him to feel this way.
He knew that it would be wrong to embrace him and tell him it was all okay, when he was the reason that it wasn't.
But even so, he found himself slipping down off of the windowsill and gently fluttering down on the carpet. He pressed his glasses farther up on his face and sighed heavily, crouching down on the floor beside him. He wrapped both of his arms around his friend and felt Barry-senpai press his face into his shoulder.
Oddly, the feeling made his heart flutter a bit. He'd never felt that way with Vanessa. Their affair mostly stemmed from her need to be satisfied by another man. And, if he hadn't been drunk that night as well, then he probably would have never committed such an atrocity.
"Even though it probably doesn't mean much from me," he began, holding his bee friend in his arms, "I'm sorry, Barry-senpai."
Adam hadn't expected much of response from him, in fact, he thought that his friend would just ignore his apology and stop talking to him for good.
But Barry's grip tightened around him and he whispered back a slight, "...Thank you."
Adam felt his heart thump loudly in his chest.
Was this a very clichē sudden realization of unrealistic love?Perhaps.
