3:00 am in the middle of summer. I wake up to the sound of my messenger. Hundreds of messages maybe thousands, but only one of them struck my attention, "DO NOT LOOK AT THE MOON." I was very curious and wanted to look, but the other messages gave me a bad feeling. Something was off. People I didn't even know kept texting me. How did they get my number?"Look at the moon. " "The moon is beautiful tonight" "You need to see the moon" Then I heard a knock on my bedroom door. "Sweetie come outside we need to see the moon. Its so beautiful. Come NOW!" I ran to my door and locked it. When my mother said the last two words she sounded as if a demon was living inside her. If I were a little kid I wouldn't really think about stuff like this, but as a sixteen year old girl who spends a lot of time with her mother I noticed instantly something is off. I texted the anonymous number back. "Whats wrong with the moon?!?!? Whats happening??" They responded
"Oh thank god they didn't get to you"
"I can't tell you everything over text, we need to meet up"
I was really concerned now
"where can we meet, and how do I escape my house, my mother is outside my door yelling at me"
There was a moment before they replied "Do you have a window in your room?" "Yes" Buzz
"climb out of the window but make sure that you NEVER look at the sky"
"okay I won't, but what if theres people outside" Buzz
"I hate to say this, but even if they're your parents bring something like a bat or even break off the leg of you bed. Where do you live?"
I had to think about it for a moment. The thought of hitting anyone i knew, with something that could seriously hurt them phased me, and how did i know if i could trust this person. So many questions whirring through my head, but i knew that if i was going to make it out of this situation safely i would have to compromise.
"I live on 143 Berry street" this person is a slow typer I can tell
"okay, found your location. Ill just come get you myself. I have a place where we can go. Text as many people as you know, tell them to not look outside at all. Maybe we can save more people. I will tap on your window when I'm there, which window?" I did exactly as this person said. I texted as many people as possible and something surprised me, I had thousands of phone numbers on my phone somehow. "When you get to my house on the left side top right window"
"okay got it" This was really freaking me out. My mom was now raping at my door, it sounded like it was going to break open. So I texted anonymous
"my mother at banging at my door, what do i do. It sounds like it will break..." Crack. There was already a crack in the middle of my door i continued texting,
"it sounds like it will break open anytime soon" I was in such panic that i didn't even think to ask of their name.
" okay I'm almost there. How long can you hold out?" I really didn't know. It was a sturdy door, but there was already a crack in it.
"I don't know it might hold for a little while but i don't trust the crack in it. Also, you never told me your name" god this person takes forever to reply "I'm just around the block now, I'm running as fast as possible. Also. The name is Brian, Smith" "Well Brian, whats the likelihood of getting out alive, or unharmed" Buzz
"well, i dont know considering the situation. Im at your house." I heard a tap on the window and looked down, He was wearing a baseball cap with a long brim, probably to keep him from looking up at the moon. At that moment my mom had completely broken my door down and was screaming at me.
