Judith stood at the door with her nervous son by her side, her hand rested on his shoulder,
"Oh Codykins it's so cute how you boys are having a little get together, you're so grown up now!" She cooed at an embarrassed Cody who only scoffed in response,
"Yeah, Mom, you've said this five times now, can we just open the door to Junior please? It's cold outside..", he huffed back at her, crossing his arms in frustration. He didn't spend three hours getting ready to stand with his mom keeping his date outside of the house.

On the other side of the door stood Junior, who was frantically hitting the doorbell, his teeth grit in annoyance. He'd been standing outside for nearly ten minutes now and still nobody had answered the door. This was of course due to how long Cody spent getting ready.
"Cody hurry up or I'll leave!"
He announced, hoping Cody could hear him from the inside of the door.
He couldn't believe he had actually accepted this stupid dare of going on a date with Cody, besides it wasn't even like it was a bet, Joseph couldn't afford that.
Junior gripped the bunch of flowers in his hand tightly as he glanced down at them. Violets, the blue kind.

Cody's a blue kinda guy, right? He'll like them.. I hope flowers isn't too much.. I mean.. it IS meant to be a date,
Junior thought. He had been especially conflicted about whether or not he should have brought Cody flowers but figured he may as well go the whole way if they're going to be having some sort of date.

All of a sudden, the door swung open in his face, breaking his train of thought and filling him with relief, finally.
"Oh look, Cody! Your little boyfriend's done his hair all nice for your date!" Judith commented, smiling warmly at Junior, to which he responded with a puzzled look back.

Pigs can talk? Junior thought, giggling smugly to himself.

Wait.. did she just say boyfriend...?

Junior made no attempt to reply, and begun wracking his brains for a joke about Cody's mom in order to cover his embarrassment.
Cody took one glance and Junior, and sighed heavily, he knew a pig joke was coming any second now, and signalled to Junior silently to "not even start", to which Junior rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at his date to mock him.
Typical.
"Hey Junior.."
he mumbled, already irritated at him.
"Hey Cody! I uh.." The redhead shoved his bunch of flowers towards his date violently,
"I got you these because, well, I don't know.. it's supposed to be a date?" he murmured under his breath, staring at the ground.

Cody blinked at him a few times in surprise, unsure of whether or not Junior was being sincere or if it was some kind of prank. It was so unlike him to adopt a shy demeanour or go out of his way to buy flowers?
Well, whatever, it's still so cute..
Cody smiled to himself at this thought before reaching out and taking the bunch of flowers with care before beaming at Junior,
"Wow! Thanks Junior, they're so blue!"
Fuck! they're so blue? Come on Cody are you serious? You can do so much better than that jesus christ..
He cursed himself in his mind for saying such a stupid thing, Junior only nodded slowly in response before stepping into Cody's house.

Cody sighed once more, trying to forget about what he had said, and turned to face Judith. He figured he might as well say goodbye to her now so she'd leave the pair alone tonight. He smiled up at his Mom fondly and pulled her into a hug,
"Thanks for letting me have Junior over, mom." he mumbled into their embrace.
Judith began tearing up and she nodded to her son,
"Oh you boys grow up so fast.." She said wistfully, a look of hope for the two in her eyes.
Although she was always proud of her son, Judith felt immense pride for Cody asking out the boy he's liked for so long on a date, no matter if the only reason Junior accepted was due to it being a dare from Joseph, it still seemed to Cody as if Junior had put some kind of effort into his appearance for tonight.

Planting a kiss on her son's tousled hair, she turned him to face Junior, causing Cody's face to flush a little at the sight of his crush dressed up for what he assumed was a date of some sort,
"Now, you boys go have fun! I'll see you both later! Don't eat too much candy and if a strange person tries talking to you, give them my number! Mwah Mwah!" She said, blowing them both kisses, to Junior's disgust, as she waved them goodbye, walking off into the kitchen.
Junior stared at Judith as she walked away, narrowing his eyes at her in confusion,
"Cody what does she mean by, "if a strange person tries talking to us that we should give them her-""
"She says it all the time Junior I don't even know what it means," Cody interrupted impatiently, this was obviously not a first time thing for his Mom to have said,

"we're not even going anywhere.." he muttered, shaking his head in his Mom's direction.
A brief silence passed between the two while Junior peered apprehensively around his friend's house.
It's actually quite a nice place without the Nazi Cheeseburger and the jewish cake and.. what else was there that made Cody's house weird.. oh yeah,
Ken.
Junior pondered silently to himself before clearing his throat,
"So Cody where's that doll of yours?"

Cody broke eye contact with Junior, suddenly wringing his hands together nervously.
Shit, his mind raced, I'm gonna have to tell him..
"He's.."
The boy started, staring at the floor in an attempt to conjure up an excuse.
He figured he may as well just tell him the truth, Junior had ways of always getting what he wanted and Cody knew all too well,

"He's in uh.. he's in doll jail, Junior."

The redhead stifled a laugh into his hand,
Doll jail?! Is Cody crazy?
Junior laughed Smugly causing Cody's face to flush bright red with embarrassment,
"I'm serious, Junior!" He replied, raising his voice in annoyance.
"So you admit he's a doll Cody?"
Junior asked, flashing a grin at Cody's embarrassed face, this was too funny for him.
"Ugh, no, I don't, my mom called it that," Cody explained,
"She took him away from me for spending all my time with him, she thought doll jail would be a good idea." he confessed awkwardly, avoiding eye contact with Junior.
"She saw it on one of those DIY parent sites that white moms always use and thought it would stop me, little does she know my love for Ken will never be quenched by white mom DIY.." Cody trailed off, staring into space.

Junior watched him with a mix of awe and disgust, how can he be so committed to a Ken doll?
"Cody it's a doll."
Junior's comment only earned him an exasperated look from Cody.
That boy can be seriously irritating when he starts with Ken.

"But whatever Cody!" Junior stated, crossing his arms in defiance, "Show me this doll jail and then maybe i'll believe you!"
Cody sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration, why could Junior never believe him?
"I don't want to show you Junior it's embarrassing for Ken!"
The redhead only giggled at this and shook his head,
"Okay Cody, fine. I'll find it by myself."
He remarked in the same way he always does when he thinks he's doing something clever, the way that really got on Cody's nerves.
Junior giggled quietly before making a dash for the stairs, his intention to look through Cody's room for "Doll Jail" apparently proved itself way more exciting than standing in the hallway with his friend, waiting for something to happen.
He knew there was no stopping Junior when he gets like this, and decided he'd just do his best to prolong the inevitable.

"For the love of God Junior..." Cody muttered before making his way after him.
