Kara's POV.

Walking into the diner, the warm air greeted me and I was thankful. It was freezing outside and my jacket wasn't the warmest thing that you can wear but I had to deal with what I had. I didn't have much spare money and I had more important things like bills to pay for.

"Thanks for the extra shift, I really appreciate it. I can always use the extra money, so you can call me anytime." I mumbled to Frank.

"Darl you know you work hard and we can rely on you, unlike Alison. Who knows what she got up to now" Frank said.

Alison was one of the waitresses that work here as well, she is always late and doesn't turn up but they keep her around because of the regulars that come in just to try to get her attention. She is gorgeous, with straight long blond hair and a face that many would die for. She always used her looks to get what she wants and everyone thinks she is this nice caring person. But I knew better, she was horrible to me when no one was around, I have no idea why but I've only been nice to her. Now I have learnt to ignore her and I don't listen to anything she says to me.

"Well I better get into the back and change, it's starting to pick up and we don't want to keep the customers waiting."

I walked into the change rooms, took off my jacket and put my apron on. Giving myself a once over in the mirror before walking out. I walked behind the counter and got a cloth so I could start to wipe down the tables. I was lost in my own little world, I always get lost in my own imagination and was forever going through what if situations in my head. This was the way I past my time when I couldn't read, I needed an escape from the realities of my life and the best way for that is my imagination.

"Excuse me miss." a deep sexy voice said right into my ear. I jumped a little and knocked myself into the table, I wasn't paying attention and didn't even hear anyone walk in. Slowly I turned around and I was met with a group of the most attractive men I have ever seen. Them being so close was making me nervous, I never really knew how to act around men. I never had much contact with them growing up.

"Sorry sir, I didn't hear you come in. How can I help you today? Are you here for lunch?" I spoke with a clear voice; one thing I know is that you never show anyone that they scare this always leads to trouble.

"Well we were just passing through but now I think we will stay for lunch, I like the scenery" he spoke and ended it with a wink.

"Very well, I'll show you to a table. Follow me this way", I said as I started walking to the back corner which would be large enough to seat everyone.

"Menu's are on the tables, I'll be back in a couple of minutes to take your orders." I said while turning away.

I just had to get through this then they will be gone, don't let them see that you are afraid. People can smell fear and will take advantage of that fact. I was chanting this over and over in my head, for some reason I was getting a strange feeling from them and it I didn't know what it meant.

They stayed for a couple of hours, eating and talking away to each other. I would also see the one guy glance at me, when no one was looking. Finally they left and I couldn't explain the relief I felt, it was like I could finally function properly again and that feeling over danger is gone. Although they did leave a nice tip but I still wouldn't want to see them again.

The rest of the day seemed to fly by and it was already the end of my shift, my feet were aching and I couldn't wait until I got home. After saying goodbye to Frank, I made my way over the bus stop. I couldn't stop shivering, it was freezing outside and it was just lightly snowing. I hated being outside in the dark but I had no choice. Finally the bus arrived and I was on my way home, the events of today starting to make me really tired. Luckily for me, the bus stop was right out the front of my apartment building. Once I arrived inside, I quickly went to get into my PJ's so I could get a bit warmer. After I had my dinner, I settled in bed under the blankets, I didn't have the spare money to have to heating on every night so only when it got too cold I put it on. Finally I was slowing drifting off to sleep.

It was all dark and I couldn't see much but I knew that I was in danger, in really big danger. My body was on high alert and I was just waiting for whatever it was to come and get me. I had never been so scared in my life, tears were pouring out of my eyes and I had a deep gash on my left arm. It was bleeding heavily and I just couldn't remember how I got it or how I got here. Nothing was making sense, I just wanted to know what attacked me and show it's self. Then I heard a howl in the distance, what the hell was that! Now is the time for running, I was screaming at my body but I just couldn't make myself move. Whatever was coming, it was coming up fast ad right for me. Then it just stopped and it was dead silence. All I could hear was my own breathing and then I heard the faintest whisper "I will kill you one day, just not now I still want to have my fun with you" The voice sounded pure evil, I didn't know what it was and what it wanted from me.
