Evan was late for his job once again, which wasn't a good thing in two ways. One, he could run into his bullies that always bother him and two, he could get fired from his job. He had the television on the news, listening to it while he got ready. When he left the room, the reporter announced a killer on the loose by the name of “H2O Delirious”. Just when the reporter finished, Evan grabbed his suitcase, switched the television off, and headed out the door. Evan just hoped that miraculously neither of the two situations happened.
Just when he thought he was safe, the bullies seemed to materialize out of nowhere. Why did I jinx it?!, Evan thought to himself as he tried to blend in with the crowd. Unfortunately they spotted Evan anyways, one of them shoved Evan while another made him drop his suitcase in a puddle of muddy water. They have been Evan's bullies since high school. Evan thought that after graduating they'd be mature and civilized but he was so wrong about that. Evan straightened his shirt, picked up his soggy suitcase and sighed deeply, continuing his walk towards his destination. While those events unfolded, a certain individual was watching, the infamous H2O Delirious.
At work, Evan received one final warning from his boss; she said one more late check-in and he was fired for sure. He also had an infuriated customer yell at him about how bad their product was, and how it didn't work. Evan dismissed it as a faulty product from the line and that he should buy another. He ran a hand down his face, he had a feeling this was going to be a long day, but not only that, he felt as if someone was watching him. As if Evan was prey and the other was the hunter. He shook it off as still being startled from the encounter of this morning.
When Evan checked-out from his work, he made his way back to his home. Mid-walk he heard footsteps behind him, when Evan turned around, he was faced with a man that looked about his age. The man smiled, his teeth sparkling in the night due to the light of the lamp post. Evan shyly smiled back and waved.
“Hello,” the man greeted and laughed a little.
“Hey, um,” Evan replied nervously, “w-what are you d-doing?” Evan questioned him, stuttering a bit.
“Just walking,” he answered, “what's your name?”
Evan hesitated, should he even be talking to this stranger in the first place?
“Evan,” he answered bluntly, “yours?”
The man smiled again, “Jonathan.”
“I really have to go, Jonathan.” Evan quickly stated.
“Yeah, me too,” Jonathan agreed, “assuming by the direction that you were already walking, you'll continue that way. I have to go that way too so we can chat a little longer.” He smiled again. Wow, Evan thought, he is cute in a way but something seems... off. He smiles a lot and what is he doing out this late? Funny actually, coming from someone who is out this late as well.
“Um, sure, I guess.” Evan didn't really like this, but he had to go home. He turned around and continued walking, Jonathan now beside him.
“So, um, what do you do for a living?” He awkwardly asked Evan.
“I work in the WTC, answering calls for customer support and one in a while giving ideas for new products nothing too exciting.” Evan answered and felt relief wash over him when he saw his house.
“Oh, it sounds nice.” Jonathan commented.
“Yeah, well Jonathan, here is my stop.” Evan announced when they were standing in his front yard.
“Alright, nice talking to you. Take care.” Jonathan continued walking.
Jonathan thank while he was walking, his original plans were to kill Evan but something was stopping him from doing so. He then felt the need to protect Evan from those bullies. He planned on finding out their names, addresses, and emotional weaknesses for when he catches them, he wanted to make them suffer for what they did to Evan.
