A warm fuzz settled in the air. A misty haze blurring the other people in the area. The sole focus on the young girl sitting on a stool.
Nashi yawned as she sat at the makeshift counter. They had moved home base twice because some spineless bastard had ratted them out. And because of the constant movement, she hadn't been able to get a good night's sleep. So, she was moody and tired, the perfect Dragneel mix.
A glass of warm milk was set before the young girl. Looking up the brunette smiled at the barmaid. "Thanks, Aunty Mira..." she mumbled, taking a sip from the cup.
Said woman gave a small, mellow, smile. "No problem." She stated before picking up an empty cup and cleaning it.
Nashi paused, a thought crossing her mind. "Hey, Mirajane?" she called.
"Hmm?" was the curious hum she got in response.
"When my parents first meet?" the brunette asked, curiously tilting her head to the side.
At that, the barmaid froze. For a moment the celestial mage was afraid the white-haired woman would snap, then remain silent for the rest of the day while a distant look would take over her face.
But instead the woman smiled, a soft chuckle escaping her. "Well," she started, placing the cup down she leaned over the counter, her wavy tresses slipping down her scarred shoulders. "I myself only know bits and pieces."
Nashi leaned forward, interest piqued.
Mirajane continued without pause. "Your parents met under strange circumstances," she chuckled. "Your mother was taken over by a love charm."
Nashi gasped a little. Love charms, though innocent-sounding, were incredibly powerful. They were banned from being sold because, unless the user wanted to release the spell, they would be stuck as a love puppet, but only if the one with the ring was visible. Still, the brunette shuddered just thinking about it.
"But thankfully Natsu arrived," Mira said. "And broke the spell."
"Wait." Nashi looked up at the takeover mage. "But they can only be broken by..."
"A soulmate!" the takeover mage whispered, her squeal barely audible, and eyes lighting up with an old passion. The brunette looked towards the woman.
"What happened after that?" she inquired.
Mira let out a soft giggle. "Well, I'm not sure. I believe she was kidnapped before Natsu saved her and she went to Fairy Tail." She said, a distant look in her eyes and a soft smile on her face.
Nashi hummed, taking another sip of her milk. "Well," she paused, wanting to keep the conversation going. "Where did this grand adventure start?"
Mirajane became silent, mind whirring to find an answer. Suddenly it clicked. "Hargeon." She stated softly. "It started at the Port Town Hargeon."

A loud boom shook the building.
Nashi gasped as she sat up. Looking around frantically for the source of the noise the girl fell off the bed. "Oof!" she wheezed. Where was she, what was happening? Explosions flashed outside the window. What did Mira say again? Where it all began? I-it was, was...
Another rumble shook the ground. "Hargeon!" Nashi exclaimed as she sprung up from the ground. "Oh shit! Lucy!" Panic flared in the girl's chest. Putting her vest and boots on the girl sprinted out the door. Jumping down the stairs the girl ran past reception and out the hotel door.
Fire. Fire was the first thing the celestial mage saw. Reaching, clawing, devouring everything in sight. The girl ran a little bit, trying desperately to catch the scent of her mother.
