"No, Luke! You're not going to volunteer!" his mom yelled.

Luke pursed his lips, "Mom, she needs me. She needs my help." he spoke slowly, making his mom understand.

"No, Lucas! You are not going to have a heart transplant-"

"Mom!" Luke yelled, "I will do this whether you like it or not."

"Is this because why you want us to hurry? Because you want this fucking transplant?" she yelled back.

Luke sadly nod, "She needs my help, okay? I'm not going to risk anything ever again. She'll live-"

"And what? You die? Is that a happy ever after? Is that what is it to you now?" she cutted him off. "Okay, you'll do that transplant but do not come home haunting us."

She left Luke and the doctor, "Let's do this doctor." he said and she gave him a pity look before leading him to the operating room.

She let him feel comfortable for a while before calling some nurse for back up procedures. He closed his eyes, trying to feel himself comfortable and let him sleep.

The doctor cutted his chest open, and asked for some nurses to get Luke more oxygen because he's getting weak and if Luke dies they'll fail the procedure and Julie won't live.

Once the procedure was done, Julie woke up and glanced at her right to see a young lad- who is already lifeless. His body covered with a quilt.

She noticed it was the boy she asked help from. "Luke?" she called but the boy didn't answered. She sat up and grabbed his hand, "Luke, wake up. Luke you did it. You saved me!" she cried but the boy hasn't moved any muscle.

"You're awake!" the doctor who helped her greeted with a warm nice smile.

"What-what happened to him? Why isn't he moving?" she asked, her voice shaking.

The doctor shake her head, "He helped you." she said, "He volunteered for a heart transplant to make you live."

Julie burst down in tears and hugged Luke tighter, "I never got the chance to say thank you. You'll never hear me say it, you'll never see me. We won't be in touch with each other." she cried onto Luke's chest. "Luke, why you? I asked a help from you but I never meant you to do this."

"Girl, come on. We need to run some few test." the doctor said.

Julie gave Luke a final glance and kissed him in the cheek, "Thank you so much, Luke. This is too much if you haven't notice but thank you." then she followed the doctor.

Weeks passed, Julie was visiting Luke on his graveyard. "Hey Luke, it's been a week since you were here. I just wanted to say thank you, I know I kept saying that but it's too much." she spoke, "Don't worry I'll take a proper good care of your heart. It felt different, a good different though."

Then a long pause between them until the wind blows in her direction and she smiled, "I can feel you." she said, "I never got the chance to say how much I like you ever since you started to help me back at the woods." she sniffed, "It's too late now, everything is. But if you were still alive then maybe we could- you know..." she chuckled.

Then a guy around her age came and put some flowers on Luke's grave. "Hi." he said.

"Hi?" she said but more like a question.

"I'm Michael, Luke's friend. You must be Julie." he said. "I was hoping if we could grab some lunch together sometime or tomorrow?"

Julie couldn't help but to smile and looked at Luke's grave, "If this is your plan then I'll go along with it." she whispered to Luke and stood up and faced Michael, "Hi I'm Julie and I am pleased to meet you. And maybe we could have some lunch tomorrow then."
