(Arthur's POV)

Ring ring ring...
I sat up on my bed, the echoing ring of my forsaken alarm just blaring as the sun shone. Whoever told me to use that alarm that had a math question when you woke up is definitely going to get a smack on the head soon. I finally plopped my phone down on the soft bed, holding my head as the splitting headache of a hangover finally kicked in. What happened last night? Maybe drinking with friends on a Sunday night and letting the alcohol do all the talking for me was a bad idea after all. I simply turned, taking my phone and getting off the bed to freshen up and maybe cure this damned hangover.

Walking down the stairs of a small apartment was not an easy task if you had one hell of a hangover. It was really a good thing that I didn't feel nausea or any of the sort. I made my way over to the kitchen, seeing a pack of Aspirin with a note taped on it, signed by she herself, Amanda. Of course, it was her. I groaned, getting myself a glass of water and taking the aspirin. Amanda was my bff ever since I started high school.

I was always the loner kid who stuck with my books until this lively girl with the ponytail came up to me and pestered me with questions. It's still a mystery to this day on how we became friends, just that she's been with this sad sack through thick and thin, and the occasional drink outside. I just stuffed the rest of the aspirin into a cupboard for my future endeavors, promising to thank Amanda by at least buying her lunch later down the coffee shop.

I started my coffee, leaving the coffee maker to do its own thing while I made myself some breakfast. I wasn't all that great at cooking, but I knew my way around to sustain myself. He started up the stove, oiling the pan and cracking a few eggs over it. I've always had fried eggs, plain toast, and coffee for breakfast. This repetitive cycle was a pain, but it was all I knew at this time since I was on a budget this month. Lectures didn't start until 11 pm so I had all the time to spare to do whatever my heart desired. I took my phone and texted Amanda a quick message to see if she'd respond. She would probably be awake and fine already, considering she just watched me chug down, being the responsible friend she was.

Hey, you awake?
I texted, putting down my phone as it immediately buzzed after.

Yeah, you good? I left some aspirin for you just in case.

I smiled, glad she always looked out for me. I already took the aspirin too.

I already took it, thanks btw.

Np. Just get to class in time, don't disappoint your favorite professor.

Fuck. She had to remind me of Professor Larson. The first time I saw him I was already hooked, and pretty much everyone else. His perfect body much like a Greek god, the way he spoke being so silky and smooth. Everyone else swooned over him, me being one of them. I had to calm my inner thirst, calming down as I forgot about my coffee that had been done a while ago. I stood and poured myself a mug, going back to where I was.

I looked at my blank phone, seeing my facial features. My hair being a natural dirty blonde, overall messy since I had a major case of bed hair. My eyes looked droopy, prominent eye bags due to the countless nights of staying up to work on assignments. A light stubble on my chin, being really the only thing that I liked about myself. I wasn't that muscular, being on the more lean side actually.

I just shook my head, deciding to pity myself later on in the day when I had nothing else to do. It was 8 in the morning, sun shining as the aspirin finally took effect, giving me a bit of relief. I should move drink night to a Saturday and not a day before lecture hall soon. I stood after finishing up my breakfast, putting the dish in the sink, for now, to just wash later in the day.
