The wind rustled around me as I sat under a shady oak tree reading my favourite novel in peace. But not for long. Heather came sliding down the tree,grinning energetically.
"Ne,Ace! What're ya' reading?"
I sighed and mumbled, "read the cover." That was when I remembered she didn't know how to.
"You don't know what it means,right?"
"Eh,of course I do! A-anyway,what's it about?" She stuttered. Shifting the subject. "War." I replied.
"Isn't that boring?"
"Not really,once you get to the middle part."
"Oh."
There was a silence which I rather enjoyed,however was soon broken by the bumbling girl.
"Hey,lean closer to me." Heather requested. I stared at her suspiciously and close the gap between us slightly. All that once,the mischievous pink-haired grabbed my book and smirked triumphantly.
"Now you can't ignore me!"
"Oi,Heather,could you please give it back~?"
"Heheheh--"
I stood up,reminding her the difference between our height. "Eh--?" She looked up with wide eyes.
"Gotcha." I wrapped my arms around her. Her cheeks tinted pink as she giggled and let go of the book.
"Dammit,you got me."
