I was sitting at my table taking in what sunshine I could in this realm of gloom until I recieved a message from the big boss man himself, Spirit 12. He sickens me in all honesty. Thinking he is better then the rest of us spirits. I wonder what he wants anyway.

I scoot my rolling chair forward a bit and click on the link.

Dear Spirit 1023,
It has been brought to my attention that you have been showing tremendous progress in your training. I have a file for you to look over, if you'd like the job, then consider yourself apart of the team! I'm excited to hear from you soon

"Woah..." I think out loud. Am I...is this...I think they are trusting me with a human. I finally get to look after somebody, care for them, and love them...with in the rules of course.

No making contact with your designated human in anyway

Always report suspicious behavior to Spirit 12

Don't get attached to your human

and last but not least No traveling to earth

These rules have been built into my head since day one that I was brought here. They never told me why I was brought here or how I became this. Was I human at some point? or did something bad happen and that's why I'm here? I sigh, maybe I will never figure that out. Anyways, I think to try and snap myself out of this train of thoight. I decide to just read the link.

I scroll down to click the link and read this file. Lucas James, Case 2754. Lucas James huh? I thought to myself. This seems interesting. It says here that he's currently 17, lives in Maine, has no siblings, his parents are divorced and his dad is no long in the picture plus a lot more "fun facts" about him that I can get to later. Hmmm, I thought puzzled. I wonder if they have me linked to him yet.

I get up from my desk and walk over to Spirit 12s office. I knock softly then enter. "I received the message you sent me" I say a little nervously but confident. "yes, so are you ready? To be apart of the team that is of course. Its about time you step up and do what your whole life purpose is"
He said in a rude tone while looking at me with boredom in his face. I gulp a little and say "Well yes I am. Sign me up. I'm ready captain" OMG what the hell did I just say!! I'm never going to get this job, I'm so stupid!! I suddenly jump at Spirit 12s words as I was lost in thought "Alright then I guess, I'll send you all the details about Case 2754. Now get out of my office." He said with no emotion while he points towards the door.

I walk out and head to my desk to learn more about this mischievous Lucas James.

I get back to my desk and sit down. I start scrolling through his case to the bottom so I can link myself to him. I'd much rather do it myself then bother Spirit 12 to do it.

I suddenly get this rush of emotions. I grab my head as the room starts to spin. I curl up in a ball and try to breathe until my vision goes black and I collapse on floor.
