You were in the locker room. It was the next day now, and you were getting ready for your first test to get into Beacon... properly. You grabbed your Weapon, which you normally used in the sword configuration, but it could transform into an assault rifle, and a spear. It was painful making it -- many sleepless nights and ideas.

You noticed two other students one who was a very hyper and talkative girl with orange hair in a white shirt and pink skirt the boy who was with her was obviously used to her rambling as he just continued what he was doing his attire was a very smart style of green and black clothing as you watched them leave you saw Ruby and Yang speaking about something; deciding to head over there to see say hello

"You seem awfully chipper today," Yang stated towards Ruby, who smiled lightly. "Mhm, yep. No more awkward small talk or getting to know you stuff. Today I get to let my sweetheart do the talking," she said, stroking her weapon and affectionately holding it close.

You laughed out loud, causing them to look over to you. Walking over, you smiled at them, both nodding.

"Well, as much as your weapon is pure badass, Ruby, today is about finding a team, so maybe you should do a little talking," you stated, causing Yang to nod and look at Ruby saying "Remember, Ruby, you aren't the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together."

Ruby looked down and grumbled in frustration "Ugh, you sound like Dad. First off, what does meeting people have to do with fighting? Secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up. "I drink milk," she replied, crossing her arms.

You couldn't help but let out a small snicker at her determination to not converse with people.

Yang sighed and said softly "But what about when we form teams?"

As soon as Yang said that the rest of their conversation faded away, it truly sunk it in for you -- you were going to have to forge teams with people and make friends, and considering you were quite the introvert in Signal, and spent most of your time training with Qrow, and while that made you a fighting genius and bad-ass in terms of academic grades and actual socialization, you'd stumped very badly, despite recent actions. But oddly, Ruby's personality felt very similar to you. You couldn't quite put your finger on it yet, and the same with Yang -- their personalities were something you were quite accustomed to.

Weiss, on the other hand, was very different - someone whom you normally would not speak to - but something about her, deep in her ice-blue eyes, drew you in; the girl in black and white seemed interesting earlier, and then there was Jaune. You looked over and saw him abysmally trying to find his weapon, not able to get to the right locker as he claimed the number wasn't right which you suspected was the work of Winchester the jerk that he seemed.

Then you saw Weiss having a conversation with the esteemed Pyrrha Nikos about teams Weiss trying to butter her up prompting they should be partners " so Pyrrha have you given any thought to what team you will be on i'm sure everyone will be eager to unite with such a strong well known individual as yourself" Pyrrha herself didn't seem as invested she was more on the see where the coin lands side of things "hmm i'm not quite sure i was planning on letting the chips fall where they may" Weiss jumped in at that "well i was thinking maybe we could be on a team together" Pyrrha smiled "that would be grand" then you saw Jaune hop into the conversation "you know what else is great me Jaune Arc night to meet you" you saw Weiss get angry at his interruption and decided to stop eavesdropping. As you looked around and thought about it, you realized all these people were truly prepared to be hunters for their own reasons.

They had years of perfect training, semblances, and motivation; each one of them was ready for this journey -- all anxious and excited. It was relieving in many ways knowing you had such amazing future huntsman and huntresses around you, except for maybe Jaune who seemed a tad....you didn't quite know how to put it.

Speaking of Jaune, you saw him come flying past you, slam into the wall, and heard Pyrrha in the distance.

"I'm sorry," she called out as she and Weiss walked past Jaune, Pyrrha removing her spear leaving him to slump to the ground Yang and Ruby walking up to him "having trouble there lady killer"said Yang soon after he looked up at them and sighed "I don't understand my dad said all women want is confidence where did i go wrong" you kinda felt bad for the guy at least he was trying "snow-angel probably wasn't a good start," said Yang looking at him as Ruby helped him get up you lent down to his other side to help smiling at Jaune you say "no need to be so downcast man you fall to get back up right but also remember there's confidence then there is coming across arrogant and pompous and as Schnee Weiss is probably far to use to that kind of flirting and acting around her from stuck up nobles so maybe oh i dunno i suck at this stuff myself" you laughed Jaune along with you "at least you're trying to be helpful thanks erm i never did get your name" he said stopping to get off mine and Ruby's arms to walk normally"

"Oh well its (y/n)" you held your hand out for him to shake which he gladly accepted when you all heard a voice suddenly

"Hello students i trust you're all ready for the test" you all turned to see Professor Ozpin who had his eyes focused on you

"Yes sir more than ready raring to go ooh how many grimm is there gonna be what kind of test is it where will it be at" Ruby went into excited mode speaking super fast and making loads of crazy movements her hand almost hitting you if you hadn't of ducked. Ozpin raised his hand to make her pause "all i good time miss Rose however I am here to speak with Mr (L/N) quickly why don't you and mister arc join the others" Ruby pouted wanting to ask more questions but thankfully Jaune with the help of Yang who came back pulled her away. "I guess you wanted to speak to me beforehand don't worry I'll prove to you i'm ready to handle the road ahead" you said looking directly at Ozpin a man and friend you had known since childhood you both knew more about each other than anyone else in the whole of remnant aside from... "her" the one person who was the biggest threat in this world. He smiled back but his eyes told a different story "Qrows told me how well you have progressed and I look forward to seeing it but know succeeding here is only the first of many steps to becoming the type of huntsman you want to be; other than me you are the only person who knows my past and the past of remnant you have been gifted power that we know nothing about yet truthfully I wanted to give you guidance something to inspire you but despite all my lives and my time as a professor and teacher I have nothing other than good luck" you walk up to him after he said all that, you place your hand on his arm looking up at him "while i appreciate the effort all I ask from you is to continue watching over me and the world of remnant and have faith in me just as I do in you now you better start this exam the other students must be getting impatient" He just chuckled and sipped his coffee "I suppose you're right see you out there don't disappoint me" he smirked back at me before walking out to see a very exasperated Glynda.

Shortly after Ozpin gave his brief rundown of what the test will be and promptly also ignored poor Jaune's question while launching the rest of us into the forest.
