"But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him
will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven."
(Matthew 10:33)
Chapter 11
One major issue I see in today's apostasy is everyone teaching unity with the world's religions. They say that all can make it to heaven in their own way. This is a straight out lie! The Bible is very clear on this. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me," (John 14:6). Without trust in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior, there is no forgiveness of sin. You will die in your sin and answer for them at the judgment.
"The fool hath said is his heart, There is no God." (Psalm 14:1 a). It takes a fool to deny God. He shows us His existence through all His creation. "For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:20). If you deny Him, you are without excuse and you will have to answer for it at the judgment.
Part of accepting Jesus is to also accept the Word of God. Jesus is the living Word and the Bible is the written Word (John 1:1-5, 9-14). So denying the written Word (K.J.V.) could indeed be seen as denying Jesus also (God knows). Not to mention the written Word bares witness to Jesus. So why would Christians deny it?
Another part of accepting Jesus is to accept who He said He was. Jesus said He was the I AM from Exodus (John 8:58). We will cover this much more in chapter 12 but it is important to bring up here as well. Many say that He was just another prophet or an enlightened man. Some even say that He was just a rabbi that taught idol worship. All these opinions are denying who Jesus is and He will deny them before the Father. If you do not believe in who Jesus is, then I suggest you search the scriptures, old and new, for they all bare witness of Him.
I find it a strange thing that people can call themselves Christian and deny Jesus Christ. Yet it happens and sometimes they are so blind that they do not even realize they are doing it. For example, if you are not trusting in Him alone for salvation, you are denying Him.
"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22). Are you antichrist? If you deny the Lord Jesus Christ, you are. "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John 2:23). Nothing new here, if you deny Jesus, you will never get to the Father. The spirit of antichrist has been in the world for a very long time now. "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." (1 John 4:3).
The apostles first taught who Jesus is and then what He did for us. If you deny either, you are denying Him. Do all religions of the world believe who Jesus is and what He did for us? I do not think so! I know I will not gain many friends by this, but I must stand in the truth. If you do not want Jesus to deny you before the Father, you must stand in the truth also.
"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in glory of His Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:38). Are you ashamed of Jesus and His words? If not, you should keep yourself far from this co-exist movement the world is pushing.
"They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16). Are you denying the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood atonement by trying to work your way to heaven? If you do not believe that the blood of Jesus is enough for your salvation, you are denying Him. The verse even says that it is abominable to God and that it is being disobedient. Why? Because the Bible plainly tells us that salvation is through the blood (Ephesians 1:7) not our works. Faith in His blood justifies us.
I will say this very bluntly; If you deny the Lord Jesus in anyway, you should not call yourself Christian. Christians are a new people, born in Christ Jesus. You are not of Christ if you deny the one you are supposed to be in and Him in you.
This whole topic goes hand in hand with the divisions of the church spoken of in chapter 10. All these mixed ideas of who Christ is and ways to get to heaven has caused a large portion of the divisions. It is actually real simple to solve the issue here. The solution to all these divisions is to lean back, take a deep breath, and ask yourself "What does the Bible say!" We are not left in the dark here. As a matter of fact we are to be the light of the world. How can we be if we can not even get along with each other?
If you deny any of the trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost), you are denying all of them. They are one! We will expand on this topic much more in chapter 12 but it also fits nicely here in this chapter as well. If you deny Jesus, you deny the Father and Holy Spirit. If you deny the Holy Spirit, you deny the Father and Jesus. If you deny the Father then you definitely deny Jesus and the Holy Spirit. These three are one. These three are one God. Not three separate Gods. Do not deny Them!
The one thing that we should deny is ourselves. Which means the flesh. The flesh is going to crave all kinds of sinful things. This time of apostasy has Christians thinking that it is just fine to give into sin. Do not fall for that garbage! We are to hate sin and deny the lusts of the flesh. A good way to show that you do not deny Christ is to deny the flesh. He is our Lord and told us to do this. The world would have you believe that it is impossible to deny the wants and desires of the flesh but I tell you, through God, anything is possible.
Deny not the Lord Jesus and nothing will be able to pluck you from His hand. He does not ask you to trust Him and then leave you hanging. He offers eternal life, treasures in heaven, and most of all, His love and protection.
Brothers and sisters, do not deny Jesus in any way. That includes His words. Remember that if we confess Him before men, He will confess us before the Father (Matthew 10:32). Do not be deceived by this co-exist movement of the world. Stand always in the gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and be not of this world.
