Hello! My name is Megan and I just took a trip up to my family cabin and felt inspired to write a fanfiction about a real town that means so much to me.
Emily, Minnesota is located two and a half hours north of the Twin Cities and has a population of roughly 900 people. I wanted to share the love I have for this cabin and for Harry Styles, so i've decided to give a shot at writing something for those who are interested.
Here are some reference photos of Emily. I think I'll compare the feeling of the city and the story to the small towns you see in a movie like What's Eating Gilbert Grape, where all there is to do is go to an ice cream shop, a gas station, a bar, or a grocery store.

As I mentioned, Emily is in Lake Country. (Minnesota is home to over 10,000 lakes, after all.) And in Emily, there are 2 lakes that are connected by a river, Lake Emily and Lake Mary.
For future reference, the cabin that Avery lives in is on Lake Mary.
