Jenny was shaken. She knew it was Mr.Jack! She knew that he hung her brother but she couldn't find evidence. She felt lost like she couldn't grab hold of her mind.
The funeral came just a week later, and there Mr.Jack stood with a black and white suit with a cheerful. Yellow. Tie. She felt like pouncing on the chesire man and tearing his throat out!... But that wouldn't work.
That night Jenny cried.
Weeks passed by since the funeral. Jenny wondered who Mr. Jack was planning to kill next. Would it be her parents, her friends, or herself? Would he go more drastic or just blame it on suicide again. Would he get everyone in town? She was scared.
The doorbell distracted her from her thoughts and then she heard a familiar Voice.
"Hello, Mrs. Jenkins."
Jenny's head snapped towards the door, laying eyes on the man's off smile.
"Oh, howdy, Jack. What can I do ya for?"
"Oh well, I wanted to ask a favor."
"A favor?"
"Ah well, you see, my mother is in the hospital and I was wondering if I could pick some of your apples so I can make some apple pie for her." His smile widened.
"Oh why sure." Her mother smiled back.
"Thank you so very much."
"Would ya like some help? No offense, Jack, but ya not the strongest."
"Oh well, that would be appreciated."
Jenny started to panic, he was gonna kill her. No, don't go. "Hey, Ma?!"
"Oh, yes sweety"
"Weren't we gonna t-to... town today?"
"No, that'll tomorrow, pumpkin."
"Can't we go today?"
"Sorry, but I'm gonna help, Jack."
"Wait m-!" And she was out the door. Jenny stared in disbelief before she stood and started walking towards the door herself.
"Jenny!" Her father called for her.
"What?!"
"I need some help, doll!"
"Uh sorry, I can't right now I-"
"Get your ass in here!"
"But-"
"Right now!"
She couldn't just ignore him but her mother was with a killer she couldn't just-
"Jenny Icarus Jenkins! Get in here now!!"
She slowly walked towards the sound of her father's voice, she knew she would regret this.
Her mom didn't come home, instead, it was Mr. Jack with a pair in his hand.
"Hey, David, I made a pie for you guys."
"Well, that's mighty kind of you. Say have you seen Veronica?"
"Oh well after she helped me pick some apples she said she was going to pick up groceries."
"Ah, that'll be good. Why don't we enjoy some of that pie toget'er?"
"Yes, please, " those words sent chills down Jenny's spin, the words were laced with poison that her father didn't hear.
The pie was cut and out came a crimson substance that slowly dribbled out of the pie and tiny pieces of meat were stuffed in there. She knew she would regret it.
