Where it all started

Should I call?

"Did she really give me her number? This has to be a joke.. yeah it has to be. She never talked to me and gave me her number!?" I whispered out loud while I was walking off the bus. The bus driver looked at me like I was crazy.

"Have a nice day dear." she said.

I looked at her and nodded. I don't know why I didn't say anything, that was rude. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Hmm, my dad isn't home? You would think that he'd want to see his daughter after her first day at a new school, I guess not. It's nothing new, he works so much and they have him working these weird schedules, I literally never see him. We... never see him. Without my mother here, I do everything around the house. Cook, clean, all of it because he "never has time." or is " too tired." That's what he always says. He blames it on his job every time I bring it up, and I believe him, but you should still make time for your children right? But, there's no need to get sad, I'm use to it.

"Fuck!" I said out loud. I forgot to grab my keys this morning which means, I'm locked out. My brother has football practice after school, he doesn't get home until around 6:30. Hopefully he was more responsible than me this morning and remembered to grab his keys.

So what am I going to do. Just sit here in boredom? I don't know anybody in this neighborhood.

A couple minutes passed by and It was getting chilly so I put my hands in my pockets, I felt the paper that had Jazz number on it. I decided to call her because, I had nothing else to do.

"757-555-8970" I whispered while I dialed it. " Ahh shit, I'm really about to call her, oh my god! " I said out loud. Why is it so hard for me to call her ? What's the problem.

I sucked it up and pressed the call button. * Ringgg, Ringgg, Ringgg. *

"Yooooo? Who is this?" said Jazz.

"Heyy... um this is Aliya." I said.

"Aliya? I don't know an Aliya." she said.

"You gave me your number in the lunch line today." I said.

"Ohhhhh, hey sexy mamas. I forgot about that * laughs out loud * What you need?" she said.

"Umm,* giggles * I just need somebody to keep me company while I'm locked out the house and you're the only person I could think of." I said.

"You want me to come pick you up? We can go to the movies, I can show you around or we can go to my house, whatever you'd like. " she said.

Oh my god, she wants to hang out with me!! What the fuck!

"Whatever you want to do, I'm down for it." I said. I let out a chuckle, she was so sweet.

"Ayeee okay cool, text me your address and I'll be there in a little. I'm at the store right now so give me about 20 minutes." she said.

"Okay... cool." I said, then I hung up.
