Evelyn's Pov
Ah, midnight. A wonderful time for all. Parties heat up, the diner is empty, and the streets are less crowded.
I wait on another table while Stacey helps clean up. Stacey works with me, she's really quiet, and she hates her job.
"What can I do for...you." I pause.
Delia and Margot sit at a table, across from them Aaron and Blake sit. Nope. The populars.
"Oh, Evie, I didn't realize you worked here. This is an amazing surprise." She fake smiles.
"What do you want?" I flash her a fake smile too.
"That's not a very good tone to use with a paying customer." Delia smirks.
"What can I do for you?" I ask as nice as I possibly can.
"I don't like that tone either. Try something a bit nicer."
I sigh and walk away.
"Stacey, please get table four."
She nods, seeing my frustration. She heads to Delia's table and takes their order.
"Thank you." I smile.
"No problem. I understand how girls can be." She nods.
I think that's the most I've ever heard her speak.
