Chapter One

His Voice
"Eric!!! Get down here now!!! Its time for your daily beatings!!!" says his dad waiting downstairs with his leather belt. As he tapped his foot in patience waiting on Eric to walk down the stairs from the attic. He then grew angry since Eric hadn't listened to him.
"That's it!! When I get up there young man I am going to give you a beating that you'll never forget!!!" his dad yelled from the bottom of the stairs. As he got closer to the attic he could hear Eric's voice only a bit mumbled.
'What the hell is that?? What is Eric saying??!!' his father had thought in question. As his father listened through from the door he heard the most beautiful voice from inside. He couldn't tell who was singing so he quietly opened the door to see it was his son who had the voice.
"As The Pain In My Heart Slowly Fades~It Brings A Hope That Always Seems So Dull~I Remember My Will To Survive~!" Eric sang with all of his sadness. His dad stood there in the doorway and as Eric turned toward the door his eyes had widened.
"From now on I won't beat you... instead you will make us money by becoming a famous singer and if you ever refuse we will beat you!" his father said with a grin and crossed arms. Eric was frightened by his fathers words so he nodded and his dad stepped back and slammed the door then locked it.
"I am not going to lose that voice of yours so you are going to stay here and work on your vocals!" his dad said before stomping downstairs. Eric's eyes filled with tears and he stuffed his pillow in his face. As he quietly cried he looked out his window to see the most powerful gang walk past his house. As he watched them with amazement he seen the leader of the group... 'Death Dragon'.
"T-that must be... D-Death D-Dragon..!!" Eric mumbled to himself. After he said that Alex suddenly stopped and looked up towards the window. Only Eric had quickly ducked down before Alex could look up. Eric panted heavily as he slowly went to look back but they were gone. A loud knock at the front door made Eric jump with fright. His dad opened the front door.
"Who the hell are y'all!?" he yelled. A voice responded with a question.
His dad then said "Attic!? Why would my son be in the attic?! He is in his room right now!!" The voice then responded and Eric's dad suddenly became angry.
