hand in hand, feeling the gritty beads of sand stick to the bottoms of our feet as we waded deeper into the welcoming waves of the ocean, the calming sensation of the salt water lapping over our feet immediately setting my frazzled mind at peace.

this is it.

i dig my feet deeper into the sandy ocean & glance at you from the corner of my eye. the way the last rays of the setting sun are dancing along your face, casting your skin in a golden milky glow. your deep brown eyes sparkling with a million hidden stories and experiences. but suddenly you turn towards me and your ever so beautiful smile cracks open as you grin at me from ear to ear.

i'm filled with such joy. with you, my heart feels just like those waves crescendoing against the rocks. you lean closer towards me and i catch the slight whiff of vanilla as you envelop me in your arms, the comforting feeling wrapping around me like coming home to a warm, home cooked roasted meal after being out in the snow all day.
