A broken promise

Yuki, here plant them. They're lily seeds and when your garden is filled with lilies, I'll be back. Then we can get married!!

I shot up from my bed, waking up from the same dream again.

When I was young, I had a best friend. He was my first love and I think I was his too. But one day he had to leave, he didn't tell me where, he just left and gave me lily seeds. He promised me that when they fill my garden, he would be back. It's been 10 years, my garden is full of lilies but he's still not back.

I know all this is pointless, I just couldn't seem to get over him. Is this the curse of first loves? I don't remember his name, I don't remember what he looks like, the only I know is that he has a half heart necklace.I have the other half.

I don't remember how I got it, the only thing I know is that's the only way I know it's him.

-Yuki!!! Hurry up!!! We're going to be late!!

-I'm coming!! Can't a girl have some privacy and some space in the morning?!

-Whoever said you were a girl? Plus WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE!

That was my best friend, James Hamilton. He lives in the house beside us but since his parents aren't home often, he's here, with us. James is like a member of our family, my mother don't even think that it's wrong to have him in my room all day. That's how much she loves him more than she loves me.

-Yuki!!! If don't come down within the next three seconds, I'm eating you breakfast!!! One! Two!

-THREE!!!

-AAAAAAAHHH!!!

-Yuki! That's not funny!! I could have died!

-From what? Frail little Yuki? No ones going to believe that. If you tell anyone, you'll just bring down your popularity and I don't think that's a good thing with you flirting with every girl you see.

He stuck his tongue out at me and pouted, but didn't deny. At our school, Seiko High, James is the most handsome, smartest, coolest and the most popular guy. He's every girls dream guy. Every girl except me. I made my feelings clear a year after we bonded, I told him the story with me and my first crush. Until today,I'm still not over him and James knows that too. He watches me everyday as I tend and water the lilies with that loving and longing look on my face. Or so he tells me.

-James !!! Get your butt off me before we're actually late for school!!

-Yuki, you're no fun.

-I'm sure you can be fun too if I put the weight of a ten mountains on you. You'll be jumping up in joy too.

I rolled my eyes at him, for someone so smart he can be so stupid and irritating at times.
