I woke the next morning feeling a smooth tongue on my fur. I nuzzled my 'attacker'. "To early. Need sleep." I whined, pushing Jamie off with my paws. He barked out a laugh and tried to push me to my feet. We ended up wrestling and growling and snapping playfully at each other. He pinned me down, tail wagging. I was half asleep and unable to escape. I huffed and growled, pouting that I had lost. He nipped my ear and let me up. I head butted him before nosing my door open and darting down the stairs.
Jamie was at my heel, panting happily and nipping at my flanks and paws. We tumbled over each other in the hall and tried to each get the upper hand. I was awake now and was able to dodge him and easily ended up on top, my own tail swaying happily as I laid on his back.
A shadow loomed over us and we both looked up to my Mom, whom was both amused and annoyed. "I swear. You two are like children. Come on Pup- well, Kit. You need to vacuum the rug in the living room." She said. I groaned and padded back to my room to shift and get dressed. Jamie followed after me. I shifted and shut the door, and he followed suit. "You have some clothes here you left last time you stayed over." I said, tossing him his clothes. He grinned. "I know. I do that on purpose. You're tiny. I can't wear your clothes."
I hit him with a shirt. "I'm not tiny!" I screeched, making him laugh. "You are tiny! Look how short you are!" He hugged me too him and I laughed. I only came up past his chest. I was a little short, sure, but Jamie was tall compared to other alphas too! I squirmed to get away and when I did I huffed and got dressed, pouting. I could hear him still laughing.
We made our way out of my room and my mom was on the couch, reading. "Breakfast is on the counter, boys. Then Dante, vacuum this rug." She hummed, not looking up from her book, "Okay mom." I smiled and went to get breakfast.
Me and Jamie sat side by side, eating in silence. "Derec wants to see you around noon, Dante." Mom said. "Jason said that he wouldn't do anything bad. He understands." She said.
Jason is my father. He's a bit pale with fawn frown hair and hazel eyes. He and mom are both Lunas. His wolf is a large grey wolf with black paws, while mom is a red wolf and quite small. From what I can see, the only physical traits that carry over to our wolf form is our eyes, size ratio, and gender. I'm not sure what determines our fur color.
I nodded nervously, suddenly not feeling hungry. I went to grab the vacuum. Jamie looked at me worriedly but didn't question it. I was anxious about meeting with the alpha. The pack wasn't very large, but I never spend a lot of time around the pack house so I haven't met Derec many times. Mostly when I was younger.
I silently vacuumed the rug, lost in thought. I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "You've been vacuuming that one spot for about 5 minutes. Are you alright?" Jamie asked. I looked away. "I'm fine..." I mumbled. "Just thinking." I tried to focus on what I was doing but my mind kept wandering. My mother gave me a pitiful look. "Go on. Get ready. I'll do this." She said, getting up. I smiled apologetically and then went upstairs. "I'm gonna take a shower. You can wait in my room. My switch is on my dresser. Help yourself, just dont spend any of my coins." I told Jamie, who was following me. "Alright." He replied softly, and went to my room.
I entered the bathroom and after the door was shut and locked, I slid down it, and pulled my knees to my chest. "I'm scared..." I mumbled. "Dad says it wont be bad but how bad is not bad? What's going to happen?" I mumbled. "What's going to happen to me?"
I took a couple minutes to calm down before picking myself up and turning the water on. I undressed and stepped under the stream. Hot water hit my skin, making me recoil for a second, before relaxing in the warmth of it. I scrubbed shampoo into my scalp, forcing my mind to stay blank, not thinking of anything. Only focusing on doing what i needed to. Once i rinsed the soap from my hair i went on to scrub my skin. I washed off all the dirt and grim from the day before, rubbing at my skin until it was an angry red. I rinsed and then just stood under the water, letting it run down my body. Dad said it wouldn't be bad, so I'll be okay, right? He's not worried...So I shouldn't be either. It will be okay....I hope.
I turned off the water and grabbed my towel. I dried off mindlessly, lost in thought. Maybe it will be just a talk. Maybe he will say that he knows why I hid it. Maybe he will even say that he would have done the same thing! I shook my head. That's ridiculous. Hiding it was childish. I finished drying off, and shaved. I hated having facial hair. It was scratchy.
I wrapped my towel around myself and went to put on some nicer clothes, carrying my other ones with me.
Entering my room, I saw Jamie laying on my bed, switch in hand. "Leveled your treecko up. It should evolve soon." He said without looking at me. "Cool." I said. He set my switch down and sat up as I turned to my closet. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded.
The bed creaked and then I felt his arms around me. He rested his head on top of mine. "I'm worried about you." He mumbled. "I'm sure everything will be okay but still." I leaned on him. "I'm worried too." I admitted. "I have no idea how this is going to go. I'm- I'm scared." He nodded in understanding. We stayed like that in silence for a couple minutes before i said softly: "I need to get dressed..." and with that, he let go of me and wen back to my bed. I dropped my towel and dressed silently.
Jamie and I made our way downstairs. "We're leaving. He's going to drive us." I told mom. "Be careful." She advised. I hugged her and then we left, off to see the alpha. We stepped outside and the familiar scent of pine filled my nose.
