Every now and again,
The shadows will come back, it is only when I am alone.
They continuously remind me of a time when I was just that, alone.
I cry a little, and they laugh.
It is only when I brush myself off and ignore them,
It is only when I go to meet friends that they vanish,
All except one that continues to follow me,
This one is taller than the others.
