Carter's P.O.V.

I got her back. We were back together and tomorrow I had to meet her family. Oh boy.
"Since I can't go out with you tomorrow because of dinner with your family can we spend the rest of the day together?" I asked her.
"Fine. Let me change. Where will we go?"
"Walk in the park and fancy lunch. Well not too fancy. Just nice."
"So like a sundress or skirt?"
"What's a sundress?" I honestly had no idea. She looked at me as I were the dumbest person on earth.
"Boys. I'm gonna go get ready. You can relax in the living room." I followed her back to the house and she went upstairs to her room. I sat down on the couch when 2 kids walked in.
"Who the hell are you?" One kid asked. He looked a lot like Scarlett with red hair and freckles. However he had brown eyes and not Scarlett's blue-green eyes. The other kid was a brunette with no freckles and hazel eyes.
"I'm Carter."
"Why are you here?"
"I'm waiting for Scarlett."
"How do you know her?"
"School. Who are you?"
"Bryan. Her brother." He crossed his arms.
"And the other kid?"
"My friend. Noah."
"Bryan what is Noah doing here and what are you doing to Carter?" Scarlett asked as she stood on the stairs. She was wearing a white casual dress that I assumed was a sundress from what she said earlier and white vans. Her hair was out of the ponytail and in beach waves hanging down her back. She had on only a little bit of makeup on but she still looked drop dead gorgeous.
"Mom said he could come over. And I wasn't doing anything to him. Why are you with him and not your boyfriend?"
"You're an idiot. Carter is my boyfriend. We're going out."
"Hey I'm not an idiot. I help Sawyer with his physics homework!" I had to laugh at that.
"You aren't wrong, but still. Anyway we have to leave." I got up and followed Scarlett out the door. "Sorry about him. My family can be hectic and weird. You're lucky it wasn't Tucker."
"College boy?" I asked. I vaguely remembered Scarlett telling my mother about her family.
"Yeah. I actually think he is on a date with his girlfriend Sarah."
"How long?"
"Dating? Started his Senior year. Now where are we going for lunch?"
"You'll see." We got in the car and drove to the restaurant. When we got there I opened the door for her and she stepped out of the car.
"Well aren't you a gentleman." I chuckled and we headed inside.

Scarlett's P.O.V.

As we walked inside we saw a woman at the front desk. When she looked up her stayed glued to Carter.
"Table for two?" Carter said.
"Of course." She chirped a little too happy. She led us to a table and we sat down as she gave us our menus. I notice how her shirt was unbuttoned a little bit more than it should. A lot of cleavage was showing and Carter saw it too but cringed at it. "Now what can I get for you to drink?" She asked staring at Carter. Well more like his chest.
"I'll get a coke. Scarlett what do you want?"
"I'll have a water." I said looking at the menu.
"Coke and a water. I'll be right back." She purred and strutted away.
"Does every female waiter hit on you like that?"
"Not much no. I'm surprised you weren't acting jealous."
"Her attempts weren't very good and I saw your reaction. To be honest I wanted to laugh."
"Here is your coke and here is your wat- oh I'm so sorry!" She cried as the water spilled on my lap. She wasn't sorry at all however. I saw her smirk slightly.
"Oh it is quite alright. Could you hand me a napkin or 2?" She handed me a napkin and I wiped my dress as well as I could.
"Cara what is going on?" A man in a suit asked the woman.
"Oh I was giving them their drinks and the water spilled." I fought the urge to role my eyes.
"Really? Cara this happened yesterday and the day before you spilled spaghetti all over a girl. And both girls were with a guy."
"So what are you saying."
"I'm saying I'm drawing the line. Either you get over your jealousy over girls with attractive men and pull your act together or your fired."
"Sorry sir. Won't happen again." She said a scurried away. You could here guests laughing silently.
"Now Miss I am so sorry for what Cara did. Can I get you anything to make up for this mess?"
"Oh no. It is fine. Can we just order our food and may I get another water?"
"Yes of course. Sean! Come here and take their orders and bring her another water."
"Of course sir." A man came over here which I assumed was Sean. "Now what can I get for you 2?"
"I'll have a chicken salad please. With ranch dressing on the side." I said politely. He nodded scribbling it down on a notepad then looked at Carter.
"I'll have the burger. Extra mayonnaise." He scribbled that down then left. "Sorry about what happened. You might want to go home and change before we go to the park." Carter said pity in his eyes.
"Oh it's fine I don't really care. It will dry a little in here and more outside in the heat." I responded brushing it off though hoping what I said was true.

Time Skip

My dress did dry very quickly in the heat and I was thankful. I was walking with Carter in the park while holding his hand. He led us to a bench and we sat down. I leaned head against his shoulder and kissed my head.
"Thank you." I whispered.
"For what?" He asked confused.
"Taking me back."
"Anything for you sweetheart." Yeah. Sweetheart. We started calling each other pet names and sweetheart was his favorite for me. I didn't really have one for him.
"Ok I have to head back home. Someone needs to make dinner." I said wishing I could stay longer.
"Fine. But you'll text me tonight?"
"Of course. And you're coming for dinner tomorrow." He smiled at that then we went to his car. He opened the door for me and I got in. We drove to my house and during the ride we talked about dinner. Once we arrived and pulled into the driveway I didn't get out right away. "I'll see you tomorrow." I said before I got out. Carter smiled and pulled me to him kissing me. It was a simple peck but it felt right still.
"See you." I smiled and got out heading inside.
"I'm home!" I called out.
"Oh hey sis. Noah is staying for dinner by the way." Bryan greeted me.
"Good to see you too." I said smiling and rolling my eyes. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a box of spaghetti out of the pantry on my way there. I was starting to get the water when Sarah came in with Tucker laughing.
"Oh hey girl. Where were you?" Sarah asked.
"Having lunch and going to the park." I answered.
"Alone?"
"No. With Carter."
"I thought you broke up." She said.
"We got back together today. It's confusing. Now come help me make the sauce." She came over and started chopping tomatoes.
"Well is him coming over tomorrow still happening?"
"Yes it is."
"Oh goody!" She did a little happy dance and I just laughed.
"Dork." I mumbled. She stopped dancing.
"I heard that." She said.
"You were supposed to." I retorted. She stuck her tongue out at me like a 5-year old and I just chuckled.
"Anyway What is for dinner tomorrow?"
"Meatloaf." I said.
"Cool. Is your mom making it?"
"Yeah." I said putting the noodles in the boiling water. Sarah started asked me random questions about Carter that I answered simply wondering if having him over was a bad idea. I sighed internally thinking that I made a mistake. Oh god.
