"You're insignificant, an irritation I no longer need to tolerate once I ensure your agonising death by banishing you to the ends of the earth..."
Aladdins betrayal instantly melted into insignificance in the abyss of her mind, the subject of prominence - Aladdins banishment - stealing the space. The chilling concept of death haunted each crevice of her thinking, preventing her from contemplating anything else.
She mistakenly assumed her heartbeat discontinued temporarily, however, she's been disillusioned by her own grief. The thought of living without him making it throb excruciatingly. She assumed Jafar ripping the organ right out of her chest would hurt less than this.
"N-No," She stammered, dread weaving itself through her sorrowful tone. She averted her brunette eyes to meet Jafar's, horror rippling through them, as streams of tears cascaded from the brim of her eyes. Unease gushed through her chest, inducing a nauseating feeling to overcome her.
Alarm flashed across his facial features since he knew this was it. He was dead. His destiny was sealed since he was immobilised by Jafar's enchanted staff, unable to move or protect himself. There was no way to escape his fate. There would be nothing he could do to save himself. Why? Because his Genie obeyed another master. A master who wanted him dead. A master who probably wanted her dead.
His eyes never left hers.
Jasmine noticed Aladdin surveying her earnestly, acceptance swimming in his eyes. She looked back at him desperately, eyes full of tears, refusing to deem this as their final moment. But his eyes believed a different truth. In spite of the fresh trepidation he felt about passing away, he exhibited a soothing demeanour to relieve her. Because he'd honestly rather spend those last moments in which he could inhale and exhale, relieving her. So, he masked his fear and mouthed the words: "please don't cry, it's going to be okay," even though he knew it wasn't.
Detecting the clear-cut terror slithering upon her countenance activated a fusion of relief and heartache in him. It was a privilege to know that she could overlook his deception, however, inflicting grief upon her as a result of his banishment was never his objective.
Jasmine couldn't lose him, not now or ever. They hadn't known each other very long, but losing him still meant losing a large chunk of herself. A vital chunk of herself. A life without his presence meant incessant dissatisfaction. There would be an obvious gap where he should be, one that she could easily pinpoint. One that would fill her heart with agony. She wouldn't - just couldn't- justify it.
She brainstormed far-fetched solutions, hypothetical situations in which his banishment could be avoided. Anything that may save him. And in that moment, an insane scheme launched through her mind: She'd shove him away from Jafar's staff, propelling him away from the staff. That way he wouldn't be zapped and sent to the Ends of the Earth. This would hopefully hinder his exile. She couldn't care less whether it implied her being his replacement. Her own safety was no longer her concern. She'd act as his substitute any day if it guaranteed that he lived.
In a matter of seconds, Jafar mercilessly plunged his enchanted staff against the wooden flooring of the palace, producing a thundering clank and a circular dent in the flooring.
"It's now or never," Jasmine murmured inaudibly, pep-talking herself.
She rushed forward, skilfully dodging her father's bodily restraint and dismissing his panicked requests for her to: "stay back". She forcefully rammed herself against Aladdin's slim figure, pouring every ounce of her bodily strength into pushing him away, however, he remained stationary. Abu too.
His heartbeat boosted abnormally, and his fearful expression resurfaced.
"Jasmine, get out of here," Aladdin begged, desperation coating his squeaking voice. He viciously tried to move so he could thrust her away, but he was still powerless against Jafar's sorcery. Moisture formed in his eyeball, producing a blurry vision of Jasmine through the lens of his own eye. "We can't prevent my banishment, but if you just move, you can be saved."
