The winter moon illuminated their surroundings. Childrens pitter-pattered throughout the snow.
Footsteps and childrens could be seen everywhere, wandering around aimlessly - searching for things to be curious about.
The faint sound of night critters created an alluring symphony.
The ships and the cars leaved with one big hoot. All the waving hands and goodbyes session had passed, and the witches revealed their true form.
"Welcome, kiddos," Susie greeted. "I am the prettiest witch and the best camp councelors you could ever ask for, Susie - and this is Alice and Betsy, my fellow camp councelors, if you shall ever have any questions you can ask them."
Betsy and Alice waved. Albeit sleepy they still tried to keep the smile on their faces.
"And since we are hours late behind schedule, we are gonna continue the introductions tomorrow - pick yourself a cabin and get some sleep, tomorrow is a big day."
And with a wave of her magic wand, they all dissapeared in a poof.
Max removed the hood of his hoodie from his head. "So, how're we gon' do that, Oscar?"
Oscar shifted his legs in discomfort, fiddling his fingers.
"Honestly, I don't know," he mumbled.
Hedgehog patted his head. "Well, we can always do that tomorrow after the sun rise - you don't have to force it, Os."
"I agree with Hedge," Max added. "Besides it is already pretty late."
"You know, you guys are slowly becoming like my parents."
"Wh- what?" Hedgehog replied in embarrassment. "N- no."
Max chuckled. "Well then, that's settled. We will go to sleep first and then we meet up again the next morning."
"Okay, then," the little elephant nodded. "What about cabins?"
"Susie said that we could pick whichever we desire," Hedgehog stated plainly.
"It might be nice to get a cabin next to each others."
"Hm, about that, Max - if we are about to make new friends, I wouldn't reccomend so."
"Huh, why?" Oscar replied.
"Simple, we already know each other," Hedgehog answered. "If we want to know our new friends, wouldn't it be better for us to greet a new face next thing first in the morning?"
Max put his hand on his chin, thingking her words thoroughly. "Now that you say it, you are kinda right."
"Well, if it is for the best," Oscar said in dissapoinment.
"Hey, we will meet each other again in the mess hall," Hedgehog smiled. "Don't give me that look."
Oscar stared at her and smiled. "Okay, okay, if you say so, Hedge."
The three waved each other a goodbye and walked in a separate direction.
---
The moon lit up the path as it hummed a melody.
"Hello Oscar, it is great to see you again."
Oscar tilted his head. "Moon! It is very great indeed. How long had it been?"
"Since the last time we talk? Around 6 months, 20 hours and 1 minutes."
"That is very precise."
"Thank you."
"How had days been for you?"
The moon stayed silent for a while. "Hm, pretty great, what about you?"
"You can see me, can't you?"
"I do, I do," the moon smiled. "But it is always better to hear it from one's own mouth."
Oscar giggled. "Well, if you say so, we can talk while I walk."
"Great!"
Oscar picked his fondest memories to tell and chatted with the moon as he walked toward a cabin.
A flag with a small patched up teddy bear printed over it was hung on the flagpole.
"Hm, that is new," Oscar muttered. "I don't remember a cabin over here."
"Oh yeah, I forget to tell you, Susie decorated the whole island last month."
"She did?"
The moon nodded.
"That is, ehm, nice, I guess."
"You should check it out, Susie did mention that she add new stuffs in the campers' cabin."
"Oh, really? Now I am curious."
"Then why don't you check it out?"
Oscar smiled. "Yeah, and I really need to clean up. I stink."
"I can't smell you from up here, but you really do stink - then I hope you do it fast."
"I will!" Oscar chuckled.
---
White foam covered his whole body as he dived deeper into the bathub filled with warm water.
"Hehe, bubbles," he giggled in glee as the translucent ball-like object floated around him.
He washed himself of all the soap and wrapped his body with a white towel.
He went toward his neatly packed bag and took out a pair of pajamas.
"Hey pajama," he greeted.
"Oscar!" Said cloth greeted back. "I miss you Oscar."
"I miss you too."
The two hugged each others.
"It is kinda funny to think that I always slept with you and yet I still missed you."
"Aw, pajama missed Oscar too."
"It is nice to be back together again," Oscar added. "Mind if I get dressed now?"
Pajama stared at the towel covered body of Oscar. "Let me lend you a hand."
Pajama went ahead and put himself on Oscar. "All settled!"
Oscar hugged his body that was now covered in pajama.
"All settled," he replied in confirmation.
"Are you not gonna clean that up?" Pajama pointed at the messy stack of bags.
"I will do it tomorrow."
He went to the terrace and waved goodnight to the moon - he then proceed to turn off the light of his cabin.
"Goodnight pajama."
"Night, night, Oscar."
They snuggled on the bed and let the drowsiness took over. The two then slept peacefully, awaiting for the big day next morning.
