People lose trust when they get older but maybe that's for a good reason. Life's more complicated when you're older. Life can be going absolutely perfect or have its problems but people get through that all. Life was simple. I had school, my friends and a life to chill out. Zero drama. Right now though life is pretty great. Things Change.

"Bleep Bleep Bleep Bleep"

I slapped the Alarm Clock off my side table. Groaning, I slowly made my way downstairs where my dad was making me breakfast. He passed me a plate of butter pancakes and picked up his lunch box and the red jacket he wore everyday.

"Have a lovely day Midget!"

"Dad I'm taller than you now!"

"Doesn't matter. See you tonight, Remember your key!" he said hugging me.

"I've got it, See you tonight!" I replied standing on my tip toes.

After my dad left for work I rushed upstairs to curl my hair and throw on some clothes. Grabbing my school bag, I ran out of the house, hastily locking the door and took off running for the bus. I turned the corner I saw the bus pulling up just in time for me to get on. I'm always late. Ava was sat at the back in our usual seats. We had sat like this since we started school, only difference is back then we used to sit in a three with Lewis.

"Morning Gabi! I got you a coffee on my way!"

"Cheers Ava!" I smiled at my best friend as she handed me just what I needed to wake up.

Eventually the bus arrived at the college. People were wandering in and out of the building, completely unmotivated in their studies wishing they had picked other subjects. Some sat on benches outside with computers trying to finish work they should definitely have done the night before. Friends chattering about the weekends events forgetting about the concentration of those studying. Trees lined the path adding a green tint to every student entering the college. It was perfect looking on the outside but it wasn't all what all the leaflets advertised on the inside.

"Morning!" River shouted walking towards us with his combed back haircut bouncing in the breeze.

"Heyyyyy!" Me and Ava said trying to add some effort into a conversation this early in the morning.

"Where is my coffee at?" River inquired a gutted look on his face.

"Babe just share mine" Ava replied.

Once again, I was the one third wheeling them. Arm around her shoulders, River sipped her coffee and looked at her, sweeping blonde hair out her face. It was something like out of a good old romance film. I turned around enjoying my coffee, trying to let them have a moment. There was Jake stood, too tall for his age, leaning up against the door frame, acting as if he wasn't attracting the attention of everyone in the corridor. His blonde hair covered his face as he looked down at his phone. Glancing up, he caught my view and I quickly looked away.

"Hey Grace!" Jake said in a deep voice that made me shiver inside.

"Heyyyy! What's up?" I said confidently, trying to pretend I wasn't too bothered about him.

"How are you?" he asked tilting his head to move his hair away from his eyes.

"Tired but good, what about you?"

"Quite happy not going to lie. I think you forgot something yesterday" A smirk plastered across his face showing his white teeth. My mind was racing. Did I forget to do something for him?

"You're cute when you're stressed. I found this in the classroom and couldn't find you to give it back." He laughed, winking at me as he took my purple diary out of his school bag.

I cant believe it! I turned, looking at Ava who was still standing on the other side of the hall. We had spent all yesterday searching the school for it! I cant believe Jake found it. I really hope he hadn't read it! Too busy making out with River to notice Jake dangling the book in front of me, Ava was now no help to get me out of this awkward situation.

"Thanks for keeping it for me, I didn't even notice it was gone"

"Didn't know you kept a diary?"

"Well its just school notes and some comments on stuff I've done. It's not a proper diary I'm not a kid anymore Jake" I insisted, pretending there was nothing written in there about him.

"Okay Okay I believe you! Anyway I have to get to class. See you later" laughing at my offended pouting face.

"Bye Jake" I replied, watching him stride away with his bag effortlessly slung over his shoulder.

"Guys! Jake found my diary! What if he read it?" I announced, a worried look on my face.

"I'm sure he wont have" River reassured me.

"Imagine if he did read it! Jake looked amazing in maths class I love his hair!" Ava taunted, putting on a whinny voice.

"Oh come on I might have thought that but I have not written that! Do you want me to tell River what you say about him when he isn't here" I responded, jokingly nudging her elbow.

"What do you say about me?" he exclaimed.

"Oh she doesn't say anything except maybe he looks so hot, did you see the shirt he was wearing? Bet he would look better without it on though"

"Gabi!" Ava shouted, interrupting my impression, throwing her lipstick stained coffee cup at me. Smiling, River turned red but looked at her lovingly.

"You two are so cringe sometimes" I laughed shaking me head.

"And the Jake diary isn't?" River shot back.

"We do not act like normal college students. This is some kid drama" Ava commented laughing as we started to walked to class.

The bell went and we moved into class. Jason looked at me before sitting down a few seats in front, which meant the lesson wasn't that bad. My mind wandered still.

'Sometimes I wish I was in my younger years with little kids arguing drama instead of real life situations. Growing up was stressful. It was all fine till Lewis disappeared, then the police came and real life hit me. I guess I grew up pretty quick after that.'

The teacher ended the class and we sat down in the hall for lunch chatting and discussing going to the cinema sometime.

"Hi Everyone!" interrupted a girl with long, brown hair wearing an obnoxious green shirt embroidered with the colleges' boring logo.

"Is everyone having a good day today?"

"Yeah" we muttering just wanting to know what she wanted

"We have a new boy transferring to our college. I asked him if he knew anyone from his old school and he mentioned you guys?"

"Who is it?" River asked.

"He is called Lewis" Thoughts rushed through my head. Lewis. He used to hang around with us when we were young teenagers. One day he just left the school. No one knew where he went. No texts. No calls. No letters. He just disappeared. Being his best friends it was a huge shock as we knew everything about the ther person. Or so we thought. We went to his house and it was empty and no car out front. Windows smashed and the door looked bashed in. I remember my hands shaking as we called the police. They never found anything. We never found out what happened.

We all looked around at each other gasping.
