Chapter One

{Eve}

I leaned against the counter and scanned the customers. There was only a few stragglers left . It had been a busy day but it's quieted down now. I had been working here for about five months now. It's nice , the customers are good with the tips and my boss is a flamboyant African American woman in her fifties, named Alice , that is always a hoot to be around.

" Honey bun why don't you head on home, il close up in a couple of minutes anyway."

I turn around to see Alice , hands on the hips and motioning me out of the coffee house.

"Awh Alice you trying to get rid of me ?"

" Child , just get your ass outta my shop and go home "

"Thanks Alice , it's been a long day "

I grab my bag from under the counter , take off my apron and head out , grabbing my jacket on the way.

"Bye Alice "

"Night Eve"

As I step outside a nice warm breeze flows bye me , God I love Summer.

I only live a couple blocks away so I don't waste petrol on my bike and just walk most days to work.

Around half way home I heard some grunts and scuffles from an alleyway. Peeking around the corner , I see three guys . Two are facing the third and pointing a gun at the poor sod.

I hear them arguing. " You're a fucking Fed, I knew it. "

The accussed Fed responds " Dude , I'm not , come on "

The guy standing behind the gun holder says " Just shoot him Trick , we ain't got time for narcs "

Oh boy . I decide to step in , if this guy is a Fed then I'm guessing his death would be a no no .

I run and leap at the gun holder , quickly grabbing the gun with a hit to his wrist. Now I'm the armed one. " Okay boys , I think two against one is a little unfair , don't even get me started on the gun "

From my grand entrance I get the same response from the two thugs " what the fuck"

The Fed goes all gentleman on me " Ma'am step back I have this situation handeled "

Yeah dude , you're definitely not a fed.

I just ignore him and turn back to the thugs they seem to be coming out of their daze and preparing to retaliate. I pistol wip the potential shooter and knock him out cold. The second one is prepared for me though and charges before I get a chance to go on the offensive.

He aims a punch at my head but I easily block it . Immediately it's clear he's not a fighter. I thrust my hand up in to his face , effectively breaking his nose. Grabbing the back of his head I bring it down as I lift my knee it up the same time. The force knocks him out. With the two thugs dispatched within minutes , I turn around to face a very shocked Fed. I give him a dazzling smile , pick up my purse and get a tissue to wipe the gun down.

I hand the gun over to the dazed Fed.

"Have a nice night" and with that I turned around and strutted out of the alleyway.

Oh if only I had known that there was a security camera filming the whole thing.

Well I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of "law abiding". I know it wasn't very exciting but I was just setting a scene of how eve gets involved in a Fed operation.

Also I would just like to say that I'm not American but this book is set in America. If I use incorrect terminology or words you don't understand just let me know. I'm just a comment away. :)
