The Hybrid girl

Chapter 2

Tara looks at the headmistress confused. "A... threat?" She hesitantly asks.

Headmistress Ley sighs. "Yes. Tara. Hybrids, being very rare, are not welcome amung the monsters. With the ongoing feud between the werewolfs and vampires, you being here could cause the school to be shut down. We have discussed and agreed that you may stay here, but, we have to teach you how to hide your physical features. Meaning, you will have to stay with the wizards while you are here, and if anyone asks, you are a wizard."

Tara just looks at her. "Hide... my physical features? How do I do that?"

"That is why we called you here. For the next few days, we are going to teach you how to hide your werewolf, vampire, and mermaid features." The headmistress replied.

Tara stood there taking it all in. She understood the whole vampire and werewolf war thing, but why would that make her a threat? Why would the school be shut down if they found out about her.

She thought about it, then decided to just do it. "Alright. I'll do it. When do we start?" She asks.

"Right now. We need to do this as quickly as possible, so hopefully you are a fast learner," the headmistress replies.

For the next few hours Tara worked with the mermaid teacher and had quit some difficulty hiding her mermaid features. It looked so easy when the teacher did it, but when she tried, nothing would happen.

A few hours later, just as Tara was about to give up hope, her fins dissapeared. "I-I did it!" She exclaimed.

"Good job Tara," the headmistress replied. "You can head back to the werewolf dorm for tonight, but once we hide all your physical features, you'll be staying with the wizards."

Tara looks a bit hesitant, but then says "ok," then walks to her dorm, free of all mermaid features.

"Oh, hey Tara!" Ryan exclaims, as Tara walks through the door.

"Hey Ryan," she says, laying in her bed.

"What did the headmistress want?" Ryan asks.

Tara goes to speak, then pauses for a second. "Um. In a few days I'll be moving to the wizards dorm."

"What!?" Tommy tells, standing up. "Why!?"

"The headmistress thinks that the wizard dorm will better suit me..." Tara hesitantly replies.

"No. It won't. I'll talk to the headmistress tomorrow on why you should say in the werewolf dorm." Tommy grumbles.

"Tommy... don't... there's... more that you just... dont understand," Tara sighs.

Ryan looks at Tara confused. "What do you mean, don't understand?"

"It's... it's nothing... can we just go to sleep now? I have early classes in the morning," Tara responds.

Ryan hesitates, then lays down and says," ok." Then closes his eyes.

Tommy grumbles, then flops on his bed, closing his eyes.

Tara lays down, but stares at the ceiling, eyes wide open, unable to fall asleep. A few minutes later, she silently dozes off.
