It was during April of the school year. I stayed after school to help set up for the carnival. This is the first annual carnival that Somerset is doing at the school. The proceeds are going to a children's hospital.
There's already people setting up booths and games for the carnival. Surprisingly it's a lot of band kids helping set up the decorations. They would usually be practicing for a show but they're here setting up.
I go to meet up with my friends; Lian, Emily, Gaby, Daniela, and Bianca. I see them walking in the circle so I walk up to catch up with them.
They're all talking about how they brought a bunch of cash so they could get a lot of tickets for the carnival.
"Which games are you guys gonna play?" Lian says.
"I wanna play pinball" Daniela says.
The carnival starts at 5 and it's 4 right now. They're almost done setting it up. It actually looks better than I expected. There's a balloon pop booth, a ring toss, and ski ball. There's also the signature carnival decorations with the red and white stripe pattern.
We keep walking around until it's finally 5 o'clock. We could smell the funnel cake that they're making. They really put a lot of effort into this carnival.
Emily and I decide to wander off from the group. We walk around to where Ms. Matthews classroom. We see Mathias and his group talking next to her classroom. Emily pulls something out of her bag. I hear a boom. She runs off and I have no choice but to follow her.
"Emily what are you doing" I say frantically as we run off.
"Doing what I should've a long time ago"
We keep running until we reach Collazo's room. She sees Dylan Tirse and his group.
She shoots him in the leg.
"That's for not liking me back" she says as she keeps running.
"Emily you need to stop this" I say.
She sees more people sitting on the stairs. She shoots them both.
"They don't deserve this you why are you shooting them" I say.
"I don't like anyone from this school"
"Now are you gonna help me or not" she says.
"Alright you need to at least hide the evidence" I say.
"Get rid of the gun and clean up your shirt" I say.
We walk to the bathroom that's upstairs. She gets a wipe and cleans the blood off of her shirt and shoes.
"Okay now let's try to actually enjoy the carnival"
We walk back downstairs to find the group and go to the carnival.
We hear an announcement on the intercom.
"Attention students, we've just been alerted that there was a murder on campus. We are currently trying to find the murderer so do not be alarmed"
Jesus Christ Emily.
The security guards keep walking past us. I feel so nervous even though I didn't do it. I'm still an accomplice to the crime so I guess I do have something to worry about.
They're playing loud rap music and everyone's dancing. A circle forms so people can dance in the middle. No ones dancing yet. Then I see someone get in the circle and start dancing. It's Lian. I'm surprised I've never seen her dance before. She actually has rhythm. She hits the smoothest woah I've ever seen.
Then Emily gets in the circle with her and starts dancing. She starts twerking on Lian. I've never seen her dance before either. They're really killing it. This night is so wild and I didn't even get my funnel cake.
