"You know, just staring at it like that isn't gonna get that door to open".

"Huh?" She asked confused, "Scott said he'd come by before school today, right? You heard him too?"

Tyler could only watch her in amusement because even though she was talking to him her eyes were still glued to the door.

He didn't realise how much he missed her until he saw her again. Actually no, that wasn't true he realised it when he got that call from Derek about a week ago.

"Hi, is this Tyler?" Derek asked once he picked up. He almost didn't. He was kinda in the middle of something, but after the fifth call in succession from the same number his curiosity won out and he answered the phone.

Bonnie was helping him with his abilities and told him about Tyler, "she said you're like me" Derek told him while he listened intently. He didn't start running until after Derek told him what happened because of course. Of course she went and took on other people's problems and almost got herself killed again. Ofcourse.

So he'd gotten into his car and drove for ten hours to get to her because he missed her and wouldn't let an-

"Ty!"

"Whaaaat? Bon, I don't know, okay? I wasn't really paying attention. What do you care if he comes anyway?" He asked. Besides, he was pretty sure whatever promises were made were via text.

"I don't" she said so fast that he raised his eyebrows. "I mean, he was dead so...I just want to make sure he's okay".

"Suuuuuure, Bon" he said and didn't even try to hide that he didn't believe her, which only agitated her more.

"Oh shut up, Ty!" She said and pushed him. That was another thing, she'd gotten her strength back in the past two days she's been awake. They actually took a walk around the hospital yesterday because they'd gotten so bored of just sitting in her room all day.

Bonnie wasn't exactly a fan of sitting still, which is how she got herself into trouble like ninety percent of the time.

When the door finally does open it's not Scott that comes in, but a woman Bonnie told him was his mom, uh...Melanie? He didn't remember.

"Morning kids" she greeted with a warm smile and a clip board in her hands.

"Hey, Melissa" Bonnie greeted and smiled right back...Melissa, that's right. He needed to remember that.

"I come bearing good news" she said and brushed Bonnie's hair from her face before checking her temperature with the back of her hand while she looked at her expectantly. "You might be going home today".

"Seriously?"

"If these tests I'm about to take come back negative then you have the green light to go home" she said.

"But I feel fine".

"It's one thing to feel fine and actually be fine, Bon" Tyler pointed out only to have his best friend scowl at him while Melissa stopped her examination to tell him, "I like you", making him feel all smug about it.

It didn't take long for her to finish drawing the blood she needed after that and she was on her way out when Bonnie finally cracked and asked "Is Scott okay? I mean, uh, he said he'd come by this morning, but..."

"Oh" Melissa said. Her mouth was hanging open when she turned around and her eyes were shining with mischief. It was almost like she knew something they didn't.

Tyler had an idea though.

"I'm sorry, honey. I haven't been home yet so I haven't seen him".

"Oh. It's just that I haven't seen him since I woke up and when I talked to him yesterday he said he'd come by and see me, but it's fine..." she said and then tried to wave it off like it wasn't a big deal when it clearly was.
