The burning hotel raged on with fire.
"Look out!" Asher called out.
"Shit" I thought. I extended my arm to pull me out. A huge piece of the building fell where I had been standing.
"I knew I shouldn't have brought her." Asher thought.
"Heard that!" I called out. We both tried to get people out of there as fast as we could.
Asher sped through the building, trying to get more than one out at a time. A fire truck blared.
I pulled myself to windows that still haven't been reached. I broke through the window. A family stood in their room. All of them coughed harshly, begging for fresh air. They huddled together.
The fire got close to all of us, my suit hasn't been upgraded since last year.
I felt the heat getting close. I ran towards the family, and put an ice orb around all of us. I felt the little boy admire me, while I kept adding ice to the shield.
"Are you Echo?!" The boy yelled. I struggled to grin at him. I felt my head hurting as my hand produced more and more ice. Then, I felt a sharp pain in my head.
I collapsed.
-
"Oh no, she's up..I wouldn't do that if I were you Echo..the venom in your brain is all up in your head. Move around too much, you're limbs will go paralyzed. Your thoughts are already blurry it's only a matter of time till you faint to your death." Greg said.
-
I wake up."Damn it." I mutter.
"Exactly, Damn it Asher...why'd you have to bring her?" Natalee said.
"She begged me to!" Asher argued.
"And you listened?! For the last time don't bring her out, dumbbutt.." Natalee said. I giggled as I heard them argue. My head kept throbbing with pain.
"Hey hey hey, Crystal you gotta rest. " Asher said. I groaned in my head.
"I'm perfectly fine," I said, my voice rasped and my brain felt overflowing with pain.
"It doesn't look so," Natalee said. She looked right next to my bed to the monitor. An x-ray of my brain was showed on the screen, showing where it hurt most, and It was in deep red.
"Alright fine, let me rest then." I said, as I motioned for them to get out.
"Fine, c'mon Asher." Natalee said.
"Alright, I'll be out in a second," Asher said. Natalee walked out leaving the door open.
"Look, you have to stay here okay? Rest, I'm not letting you come with me anymore until you're fully better." Asher said.
"Aw, you care.." I laughed.
"Course I care, I like you!" Asher laughed. He headed out and closed the door. I sighed, and stared at what my room had become. Medical supplies lined up at the door and a monitor by my head. Boy, did I hate this. A year has gone by and I'm hooked up to all of this because of that bite. What am I going to do?
-
"She keeps fainting, ever since that incident with that mutant war... but she wasn't even near that scene." My mom said.
"It's not that, there's a big tear up at her head right her. It looks like a bite or something clawed it at some point. It's healing on the outside but on the inside, it seems like there was a substance along with the tear." The doctor explained.
I felt my head with my hands and felt the tear, I flinched at the sudden contact.
"It isn't poisonous, but it did go to the brain, it messed with your system, it makes your head throb which are so intense that you could just fall from the intense pain, your vision and thoughts can get blurry at dangerous occasions as well." The doctor explained.
-I sighed as I felt my head throb and my eyes closed. The sudden flashback has me dizzy.
Then, I see the door open
