I woke up in Martha's bed, I sat up & got up was the being as quiet as possible so that I don't wake up Martha. I walk over to the white wooden mirror covered in little pictures of Martha's friends & family. Most of them though, were of Martha & I.

Looking around the girly bedroom makes me think about the day I met Martha.

I was walking around our high school after hours, I was stuck to do the janitors work as punishment for throwing a textbook at another student because I wasn't in the mood to deal with her bratty attitude. Anyways, I was busy cleaning a classroom when I heard footsteps followed by a deep & kind of creepy voice.
"Hi, Jenny."
I turned around to look at the figure. It was a boy who says his name is Keith, but there are many rumours that go against it.
"It's 6:00pm on a Thursday, what are you doing here, Keith?" I said, slowly getting even more irritated than I already was.
"I had to come see you, love."
After he said that... I should've been scared, but if anything I was dumbfounded. How stupid was he? Staying late after school just to see some girl in detention was pathetic.
"So? What do you want?" I said while looking at him like he was a moron, which to me he was. He started walking over to me when I heard yelling coming from the hallway,
"Keith stay away from her!" The voice cried. The girl was getting closer to us, her voice grew intimidating even though it was so soft. Then, she ran into the room causing Keith to pay attention to her instead of me. I looked around the classroom when I noticed a stack of history textbooks on a desk next to me. I slowly grabbed one & held the bottom of it, preparing my swing.
"Hey Keith," I said emotionless as Keith's attention turned to me instead of the girl. He looked confused, obviously he hasn't noticed the book. With the most sly voice I could make, giving him a sweet smile, "I'll see you in detention tomorrow." As I hit him upside the head. I ran passed him & out of the classroom, grabbing the girl & pulling her with me until we were outside the main doors.

"Um, are you okay?" She said looking to me, panting.
"Yeah, thanks. I would've been fine though, he just wanted to fight." I said while sitting down on the concrete. The girl looked at me confused of how I knew what his intentions were, so I looked up at her & explained myself.
"He was acting all sweet so that I would let my guard down. He's done this before."
"Oh, well I'm glad you're safe," she said with a smile on her face. With her hand out, she spoke to break the silence, "I'm Martha Dubb."
I grabbed her hand & she pulled me up. I dusted off the back of my legs before speaking up.
"It's nice to meet you, Martha. I'm Jenny Camrose." We looked at each other for what felt like forever, until I offered Jenny a ride & we ended up staying at her house for hours talking before I left. We knew we were going to be friends for the rest of time.

I didn't even notice Martha woke up until she yelled my name, "Jenny Camrose!" & I snapped back into reality.
"What do you want?" I asked, turning around to see Martha sitting up in her bed, still under the blankets, giving me the stupidest look in history.
"Why are you at my makeup desk?"
"I don't know, I just am."
The look Martha gave me was priceless, I actually started laughing at her!
"What's so funny, Jenny?!" She snapped, the expression on her face was both confused & amused at the same time. We both ended up laughing our asses off, her holding her stomach while laying on her bed, still cluelessly to why we were laughing, & myself rolling around on the floor struggling to breath.

The next thing I knew, Martha had stopped laughing & was above me, holding out her hand. She pulled me up after I calmed down & looked at me with the cheekiest grin in the world.

We sat in the kitchen, Martha at the table & myself on the counter. It's just where I was comfortable, even though I had to deal with Martha's constant glares & annoying comments about how I'm gonna get hurt if I don't get down. How would I get hurt from sitting on a counter?
"Hey, Martha?"
Looking up from her plate, Martha softly answers, "Yeah?"
"Remember when I got on top of the fridge because you wouldn't shut up and kept telling me I'd get hurt on the counter?"
"Obviously," The look she gave me was a mix of amused & irritated. "How could I forget? You got on top, gave me a stupid look & then jumped!"
"I was fine is my point! I didn't get hurt from jumping off a fridge so how would I get hurt on a counter?"
"Well... Damn it." Martha looked away, knowing I have won this battle.
"That's right. I am victorious!" I yell an loud as I could, punching the air & squeezing my eyes shut.
"For now." Martha sated, making me open my eyes to see her right in front of me, so I did the only thing I could in this situation & hugged her, earning a hug back. After sitting there for a moment, I pulled back but kept my arms wrapped around her neck so I could whisper,
"Try me, hun."
