I tried to end it all, but it ended up ending me
When they showed up to pick me up one more time I was feeling dizzy from waking up from that vision again. I could feel a bitter taste in my mouth that reminded me of all the blood, and I could almost see glimpses of that white light that once again had left me behind to go through this routine like every other day.
I was feeling very restless as we made our way to the stream, I couldn't focus on anything that surrounded me and for whatever reason that day just felt generally different. It's almost like I knew something was about to happen.
Instead of feeling their slender fingers against my skin as they bathed me, I felt something soft touch my skin and run down my arms. I would hear their whispers slightly louder but still couldn't quite grasp what they were saying. When the mushy thing came in touch with my mouth the feeling of what touched my tongue was instead cold and hard. Almost metallic. Once they took me back to my usual spot I noticed they were sitting closer to me than previously, and instead of taking notes they were simply staring.
From a distance I started hearing what seemed like sobbing. Was I about to make contact with people from the outside again? Was something else going on? I knew it wasn't a vision, but whatever it was didn't feel real either. I opened my mouth but no sound came out and the sobbing intensified. Suddenly it felt like I was experiencing some sort of sensory overload and my body immediately contracted into fetal position. I felt them approaching me and covering me almost in a protective way, as if they were trying to shield me from whatever was happening, but it seemed like things only kept getting worse.
Little by little I started blacking out. I felt my visions start to pull me in and soon enough it was all gone. I was surrounded by nothing but darkness, which then turned into a bright light above my head. Not the bright light. A bright light. This vision was new to me, and I could feel something soft touching my skin, as if I was laying on fabric or perhaps a grass bed. After what felt like hours I started hearing a faint honk that startled me. I tried to get up and walk towards it but I couldn't. I felt like I was moving but nothing seemed to change and I still felt the soft fabric against my skin.
Suddenly something cold touched me. I heard another honk in the distance and soon enough one of them had appeared right in front of my eyes. I could see that slight shape of a smile under their skin and they reached out to grab me and pull me up. Once I felt like I was standing I noticed the sound of waves around me. Everything seemed so new and different from my previous visions I didn't know what to do.
"Jump" It whispered to me. Their shadow-like body turned into brightness. And the smell of the sea hit my nose. I couldn't miss the opportunity to reach out for the light. Not again. I felt myself lean forward and hard wind hit my face as I smiled knowing I had finally done it.
I had freed myself.
