Lucy Wandrez was sitting in her bedroom on her faded and trashed teal carpeting. She was watching Nickelodeon on her LG flat screen television. Her bedroom sounded nice, but it was tiny and old. She hated being cramped like that, it made her feel almost claustrophobic. That was the thing, her parents were materialistic - but not the rich kind, the cheap kind. Lucy did like the finer things, but she didn’t care about them anymore. She wanted someone, someone to love and someone who would love her back. Company is what she wanted more than anything.
The screen on her pink iPod touch lit up. The notification was from Instagram. It was about a direct message from a Debbie Lovigne fanpage. Debbie Lovgine was her favorite singer/actress of all time. Lucy slid to unlock the screen and be redirected to Instagram. She selected the conversation with LovelyLovigne to open the unread message.
“Turn on E! news ASAP!!!” the text said.
Lucy did as told. She grabbed the sleek remote and flipped to channel 324. Guliana and Terrence graced the screen as usual, but this time with gloomy moods. As Lucy read the bottom bar, which stated that Debbie died, the remote fell out of her hand. Disbelief settled in with an awful stomachache followed by watery eyes and a pounding head. Lucy gasped and covered her mouth when it fell open. Guliana explained that Debbie died in a car crash only two hours ago. The watery eyes turned to complete waterworks, desperation to breathe and the feeling of uselessness when Guliana finished explaining.
Lucy just sat there. She didn’t know what to do with her life anymore. Out of her hundreds of inspirations, Debbie was the biggest and most important. To other people, they’d be sad, but not this sad. The only others who would be this sad were Debbie’s family members and closest friends. That’s how much Lucy worshipped Debbie and looked up to her, as if she were little sister or maybe her daughter...
