Start a new paragraph when:
Most importantly
WHEN A NEW CHARACTER IS SPEAKING
Also, imagine this situation. You're reading a book and it's a conversation between two people, say person A and person B.
"*Person A's dialogue*." *Person B's reaction*.
Never.
Put the wrong person's name after dialogue
Please ;-;
It's just confusing
You'll leave your readers thinking person B said it and then they'll come back a paragraph later like wtf
Like it's Jim (I think that was his name I don't remember) and Karen again
"GET YOUR FUCKING RAT OUT OF MY CHAMPAGNE." Karen raised her eyebrows.
Who do u think said that
Jim obviously because Karen's the crackhead but seriously don't do it ;-;
